Pollution Testing Automation Software

This document describes an automated system for managing pollution testing of vehicles. The existing manual system is time-consuming, space-consuming, inaccurate, and inefficient. INTRODUCTION

Computers are considered to be the most efficient machines in the case


of accounting and managing throughout the process of a firm. The
functionalities of each segments of a firm will become more fast and efficient if
we automate the system with suitable packages. Here we have developed such
an advanced package with various features, which are more useful for the
proper functioning of the firm.

The existing system has many drawbacks. Here we have prepared the
software package named “AUTOMATION OF POLLUTION TESTING”.
The front end is [Link] and the back end is SQL Server. This program is very
useful in carrying out the process of generating pollution test certificate for
vehicles. It also helps in generating the daily and monthly reports of the firm.

The project is developed using [Link] as designing tool and SQL Server as

database. [Link] is a powerful tool for web programming From Microsoft and is the

front end of this project with SQL Server as back end on Windows XP platform.
EXISTING SYSTEM

Presently the functioning of the organization is dependant on a software


which has many drawbacks.

Disadvantages
1. Time Consuming
Since all the work is done manually, all process, take a lot of time.

2. Space Consuming
All reports are stored in files are records. So it takes lot of space to store
small information.

3. Inaccurate
All the calculation is done manually and hence the probability of making
mistakes in high.

4. Inefficient
Searching manually for a particular record requires that files to be
arranged in a proper way. But this happens seldom in the existing system.

5. Inflexibility
Editing the details of a particular entry in a tedious and time consuming
job.

PROPOSED SYSTEM

The main purpose of the proposed system is to overcome the drawbacks


of the existing system. Speed and accuracy are the main benefits of the
proposed system over the existing system. There are data entries screens, which
are user friendly. Errors in data entry are minimized through validity checks
and messages are displayed whenever necessary.
