The given bar chart represents data on 100 boys and 100 girls’s leisure activities. Their leisure
activties are divided into 8 pursuits ( Theaters, Museums, Computer games, Cinema, Reading,
Watching television, Listening to music and Going out with friends). At a first glance, it is noticable
that irrespective of sex, all of them like to watch TV.
According the diagram, watching TV is the most common activity among boys and girls as more
than 90% of them love it. On the contrary, the least favoured activities are theaters and museums
(not more than 10 people).
In terms of going out with friends, the participation of boys and girls is slightly the same ( about
75 boys and 80 girls). On the other hand, the number of boys taking part in computer games is
sharply higher than that of girls as more than 60 boys like it but lower than 30 girls prefer it. In
contrast, the participation of girls in reading seems to be double than that of boys because more
than more than 60 girls do it while only more than 30 boys like it. Meanwhile, 40 – 50 boys and
girls spend time listening to music. Cinema is a less preferable activity as only about 20 boys and
girls like it. As having mentioned above, theater and museums come as the least activity, with a
propotion of 10%.
