Infinite Dendrogram - Embryo Guideline

So you want to make an embryo? Then look no further because this non-official
guideline can help you achieve that idea in your noggin that you lack the writing hack required!
I’m just going to put down some information that may or may not help in the embryo creation
process. In the end, have fun and don’t go crazy with power even superiors have limits you
know! Also SPOILERS.

Ideas, Themes, and Goals

Introduction

Behold the embryo in all of its glory! [But sir, it's just an empty container] Send him to
legendaria so that he may partake in their sacrifice rituals. Ehem, where was I, Ah yes the
embryo, just like its name suggests it is the beginning of your ideas and fanfictions to take
shape. It is essentially a container so that your ideas and themes can be somewhat regulated
and have a semblance of structure.

In the first light novel of Infinite Dendrogram has already explained some of it so I’ll just
paraphrase it here, embryos are essentially weaponized personality/desires or reminiscent of
“STANDS” from that well-known anime what was it called? Ah yes, Jojo Outlandish Escapades
watch that show if you haven't, it's pretty great. Anyways embryos in Infinite Dendrogram are
based on the characters themselves and the personality they bring to the table.

In order to make an embryo that is interesting and worth discussing there a few points
you have to take into account

Embryo Beginning
So how to start making your fanfiction embryo. There are a lot of ways to start making but I have
devised three methods.

Character Embryo Version

[Master Characteristics] -> [Ability Theme] -> [Embryo Name]

This version starts off by creating your character personality and traits. Afterwards,
develop an ability theme that would suit your said character. These types of master usually have
an idea for their overall goal. Examples for this method are Nemesis and Musical Bremen.

Culture Embryo Version

[Embryo Name] -> [Ability Theme] -> [Master Characteristics]

This version starts by creating your embryo based on mythological or historical entities
then build an ability theme around said entities. It can either from myths around the world or
historical heroes that shaped the era of their time. Examples for this method are Babylon and
Cocytus.

Ability Embryo version

[Ability Theme] -> [Embryo Name] -> [Master Characteristics]

This version starts by creating interesting abilities that you find amusing, be it special
status effects or for the cool factor like battleships and flying castles then develop an embryo
name for said ability. Examples for this method are Gremlin and Baldr.

These are just one of the many ways to start creating an embryo. As long as you have the three
variables above you should be able to create an embryo of your choice.
Concept Ideas/ Motifs/ Inspirations

So let's begin with a simple question. What kind of Ideas for your embryo abilities,
themes to compliment the embryo and desires would your character have?

For example, an invading parasite that can control and warp the individual facial and
ability characteristics as long it doesn’t get treated by those so-called “Healers” so that people
around you would always suit to your preferences.

or a robotic giant that keeps you company for those lonely nights and go on crazy wild
bizarre adventures.

or a young lass that can turn into a giant sword that can block crazy amounts of damage
and deals twice the payback for all that damage you block, so that you can shield the weak tians
from certain death by lasers.

Do you see where I’m getting at? In Infinite Dendrogram, your abilities can be either
simplistic by nature or something that came out of a supercomputer that you inputted for shits
and giggles. Fair warning though, the simpler your ideas and concepts the easier your time in
making said embryo abilities or else you might have an abomination to play around with the
consistency checking later on.

So here is the TLDR version, have a goal, a consistent theme and some concepts for the
ability creation process. Either concept from forgone myth, enjoyable games or any other wacky
entertainment series, go ahead have some fun researching.

For your first level embryo, it should start with a basic ability to match your theme. Here
are some of the abilities that are worth considering and some concept suggestions to start off.

And a hell lot more out there get creative or mix and match whichever works. Also, it’s
best your ability, in general, should increase your aptitude with Infinite Dendrogram jobs and not
the other way around.
Goals

Do I really need to tell you about goals? I mean it’s literally written on the tin can. Your
characters will need to have some sort of objective if they wish to be a complex individual or like
any other normal human being. Alright I’ll give you some examples

Have an adventure because the real world is boring will all that math calculation you
have to do to get a good job and only to realize that most workplaces use computers and
programs to do a faster calculation compared to your monkey brain.

Be a harem king because of all the harem anime that you watched during your past time
thinking that women would be interested in you and the world will gravitate towards your desires
in a fantasy setting and your unstable hormones. Remember it’s not incest if you shout “No
chromo”.

Fight people to death in the arenas cause that tickles your bloodlust. Emotions that you
cannot imitate in real life due to laws and fight club regulations because “People die when they
are killed”.

Be a nerd making chuunibyou items and sell it to the market for ludicrous amounts of Lir
then spend it all on Altima merchandise to brag to your fellow Altima supporters, therefore,
increasing the macroeconomic of the nation.

Steal from people either the rich or poor because you don’t discriminate and spend all
that Lir funding your secret in-game Interpol organization to catch degenerates and sentence
them without a proper trial.

Kill a lot of animals that would make PETA ashamed they cannot do the same and
blame it all on “The wind blows, rainfalls and the strong prey on the weak” mentality and fight
against assassins sent by PETA.

Get to the top of the ranking system for each nation that is available for mass murder,
cult/fetish club, and One V One deathmatches.

You get the point.


Embryo Category

So if you didn’t know what are the embryo categories then I’ll just staple them here.

An Embryo can take on different types based on the nature of its form or ability. It is
commonly thought that the nature of the Master is what determines the type of Embryo they
receive. There are five basic types and a bunch of rare types that kaidou has in store.

Basic Types

[Type Arms]

Type Arms are usually weapons, armour or tool type equipable for their master’s use.

There are various varieties for type Arms, therefore different equipment slots are
required depending on the embryo itself for example swords, guns or even staves, but can
extend to prosthetic body parts such as an artificial eye, artificial hand, artificial leg, dentition
and etc would be equipped in the accessories slot.

There are exceptions to this equipment based rule, for example, an embryo that takes
the form of organs such as lungs are considered to be non-equipment hence would not use an
equipment slot.

Hand-held weapon versions are often in contact with the master in order to activate the
embryo skills. There are also other requirements for skill activation such as the state of the
equipment itself and etc.

Masters with this kind of embryo tend to be courageous, brutal, reckless, emotional and
hot-blooded.
[Type Guardner]

A monster type embryo that guards its master as a Guardian.

This type of embryo takes the form of a non-human creature. Even though guardians are
in the non-human category, there are guardians types that are figuratively close to being
human-like. In Infinite Dendrogram type guardians are not required to enter a party and can be
considered as a tame monster with zero-minion capacity.

Masters with this kind of embryo tend to be timid, fear of getting hurt, lonely or desire
someone to protect them.

[Type Chariot]

A vehicle type embryo that allows the master to ride it.

This type of embryo takes the form of vehicles such as cars, tanks, a baby stroller with
an egg and also exceptions like “vehicle strengthening” are considered to be type chariot.
Masters with this embryo type are required to use the special equipment slot to activate their
embryo skills.

Masters with this type of embryo tend to be indecisive, liars, following the mass majority
and are unable to cope with stress.

[Type Castle]

A building type embryo that allows master’s a place for residence.

This type of embryo takes the form of a stationary structure but later forms will allow the
structure to possess movement-based abilities added to the embryo depending on the process
either by land, sea or air. The embryo endurance value is relatively high as a result of this, It is
suitable for defensive battles, and is often relegated to fortresses and production-based abilities.

This embryo does not use an equipment slot and can have a variety of visual aesthetics
from mud huts to mythical fortresses.

Masters with this type of embryo tend to be introverted, gentle, careful, cooperative and
have an artisan's temperament.
[Type Territory]

A boundary type embryo that can be deployed by the master.

This type of embryo takes the form of a boundary that gives a special effect within the
effective boundary range and is unable to interfere directly since it doesn’t have a physical form.
However, there are abilities that can destroy boundaries. It is also possible to change the
boundary shape freely to some extent and increase the effect by narrowing the range.

Masters with this type of embryo tend to lust for power, hoard their stress, have rules of
their own, self-righteous and prone to be single-minded.

Higher-level derived and Clause system category

[Type Angel]

A Special embryo type that can be added regardless of the original basic type. Masters
with this type focuses on analyzing the space around them. This type is rare among the embryo
types due to its ability to excel in examining space.

It doesn't matter whether the motif of the original embryo is an angel.

[Type Elder~]

One of the top categories. Category with the implications of a higher-level version of the
basic type. Can be added to type arms and type castle.

[Type Fusion]

One of the top categories. Instead of replacing the body, the embryo is fused as an extra
appendage to the avatar.
Rare Types ​[unknown quantity]

[Type maiden with - ]

A category for an Embryo that takes the form of a human female. This type of Embryo is
always a hybrid with one of the five basic types from the beginning. It tends to emerge due to a
sense of crisis.

The ability of this type of Embryo is usually focused on the concept of 'giant-killing':
concentrating power on a single point and defeating the 'strong' under limited conditions. Said
'strong' can be defined as a certain kind of opponent, or even a concept.

Masters with this type of Embryo believe, somewhere in the back of their mind, that
Infinite Dendrogram is not a game and that lives here have the same weight as lives in the real
world.

[Type apostle with -]

A category for an Embryo that takes the form of a human male. This type of Embryo is
always a hybrid with one of the five basic types right from the beginning. It tends to emerge due
to a sense of duty.

Type apostle will dedicate themselves wholeheartedly to their master’s missions,


regardless of its morality. Less than 0.1% of all embryos have the type Apostle prefix. The ability
of the Embryo is usually focused on the concept of 'Dominator': Taking control of a part of the
world and transforming it into a world that benefits them.

This differs from the Type: Territory in that rather than invoking the ability inside a
boundary, it dominates the phenomenon inside the designated area. It is extremely easy for this
Embryo to grow and acquire powerful abilities, so in return, it does not grant a status correction
to its Master.

Masters with this type of Embryo despise Infinite Dendrogram.


[Type Body]

A category for an embryo that replaces the user’s body. Unlike the prosthetic organs
found in [Type: Arms] embryo category, the [Type: Body] replaces the entire avatar with
something else. This category is even rarer than [Type: Apostle].

Due to its great rarity, no specific tendencies have been observed in its masters, but it is
believed that they must be able to imagine themselves being replaced by something else.

And with the recent WN, it is to believe the user isn’t “human” in a capacity of sorts and
has a negative status reduction towards their stats either in a singular stat or it affects all of their
stats.

Now that you know the corresponding type you are looking and fits with your goals. Now
it’s time to level that pathetic low-rank embryo to rank up into something that can be considered
somewhat menacing.
Low rank to High rank

There are plenty of ways your embryo can grow so I’m just going to limit a few things in a
grocery list kind of way so that you at least won’t be entangled in a web of hassle.

1. Rule of thumb the simpler the concept of your embryo the more powerful the
effectiveness and vice versa. The fewer abilities you have the more powerful it is due to
resource allocation

2. Embryo usually starts with one or two abilities that complement your theme and
concepts but there are exceptions where you can start with no abilities but with
increased stats or acquiring sub-abilities with multiple additional skills.
- For example, you excreted out rainbow colour pellets that give different status
effect based on the colour you fired, therefore, each colour would technically be a
sub-skill.

3. The earliest known additional embryo type added to the base embryo is at rank 3 but if
you’re feeling special like a certain guardian superior feel free to add additional basic
types as long as it is consistent with your theme.

4. You normally don’t start with multiple types at level one unless it is a Type maiden or
type apostle.

5. Even though I always say you should be consistent with your overall theme there are a
few exceptions to bypass this and it involves either maiden or apostle type embryo to
use [Black square box, Black square box, Black square box] when in critical crisis.

6. Don’t be that guy, the one that usually wants a broken embryo at level one saying that
my grandmother from another family gave me this heirloom and it can one-shot bosses
multiple times without any drawbacks. Don’t be that guy.

7. The embryo would require previous forms to use the specific ability unless the said
ability is carried forward in the new form, for example, ray second form cannot use any of
the other active abilities but passive abilities are carried over regardless of form change.

8. Embryo abilities would require some sort of compensation for each use either it is
dependant on charges, MP, HP, cooldowns or requires some sort of condition to
activate.

9. The embryo that requires consumables are usually expensive either in “cash money” or
in other resources that may strain you after use but usually yield great results.
What’s that you are finally are done levelling your embryo from low rank to high rank!
[Basically a month worth of playing to get to rank 4] That means it’s now possible to gain a
High-Rank Embryo version or not get them at all due to how specifics of the high-rank versions
are or get some high-rank version early. Here is some more info-dump.

High-End Embryos

High-End Embryo types are dependent on the form and ability of an embryo, which is
obtainable during the course of its evolution phase. Each of the five basic categories has two
high-end categories.

[Type: Weapon]

One of the high-end categories of Arms series.


This category is attached to the embryo whose purpose of the use is to specialize in weapons
operations. [Or complex machinery]

[Type: Calculator]

One of the high-end categories of Arms series.


A category attached to the embryo specialized in arithmetic processing power or calculation
ability.

[Type: Legion]

One of the high-end categories of the Guardner series. A category attached to the embryo that
specializes in the simultaneous deployment of multiple Guardner types.

It can be roughly divided into two types, a large group type [L'Arc-en-Ciel] or an elite squad size
type like [Four Musical Beasts, Bremen].

Even if the legion as a whole provides incredible performance, the individual unit is considered
weak due to the resources distributed among the whole legion, therefore the output per unit
tends to be lower than that of the Guardian type.
[Type: Guardian ]

One of the high-end categories of the Guardner series this category is attached to embryo
specialized for a single guardian.

Because of the allocation of resources is added into a single guardian, the guardian provides
higher performance than the Legion in all aspects.

[Type: Gear]

One of the high-end categories of the Chariots series. A category attached to an embryo
specialized for riding.

Basically, it can be remotely operated without the master operating the vehicle, but in the case
of a hybrid category with Independent Action such as type Guardian or Maiden or Apostle, the
vehicle operation can be done by the embryo itself.

[Type: Advance]

One of the high-end categories of the Chariots series. This category is attached to an embryo
that specializes in strengthening parts for riding.

The Embryo exerts an effect by being additionally mounted on the mount instead of a single
item. We are unsure of the difference between type gears, arms and etc.

[Type: Fortress]

One of the high-end categories of the Castle series. This category is attached to a building type
embryo that specializes in external attack and interference.

In addition to the usual [Type: Fortress], there is also a mutation type with a special prefix which
is [Type: Plant] that allows for production-based abilities.

[Type: Labyrinth]

One of the high-end categories of the Castle series. This category is attached to a building type
embryo that specializes in internal attack and interference.

There are various internal influence abilities that can affect the targets trapped within its walls, a
close example for the [Type: Labyrinth] can be seen with the coliseums in Gideon.
This high-end embryo has properties that are closely tied with [Type: World] abilities, but unlike
the [Type: World] it can be broken by a strong physical attack because of its physical form.

[Type: World]

One of the high-end categories of territory series. A category attached to the embryo that
specializes in expanding territory capabilities around the designated space.
In addition to the usual "world" based capabilities, there are mutation categories with special
augments, such as "Invasion world" and "Angel world".

The difference between [Type: Rules] is the difference between inside and outside interference.
Depending on the nature of the ability, compressing the range can increase the effect more than
usual.

[Type: Rules]

One of the high-end categories of territory series. A category attached to the embryo that
specializes in abilities that only affect the Master. The difference with [Type: World] is the
difference between inside and outside interference.

Because it can only affect the master itself, it is impossible to compress the range and increase
the effect like [Type: World].

[Type: Another Rule]

A mutation of the high-end embryo [Type: Rules]. A category attached to the embryo that allows
the master to directly interfere with the standard Infinite Dendrogram functions into something
that would benefit the master himself.

For example, an embryo ability that allows the master to cheapen an ability cost by lowering the
mana consumption rate by 10 times or by changing damage taken into gold as long the master
has enough mana for the conversion.

Did you get all that? Well it doesn’t matter that much and here is why

1. High-Rank embryo are usually rare in its form and It is not required to upgrade to a
high-rank embryo even some superiors only have a single basic type. So you really don’t
need to upgrade your basic type into a higher rank version unless necessary.

2. So far the highest recorded embryo types have been a total of four high-rank embryo
and it seems the author wishes for it to stay that way but we ain’t him so don’t go too
crazy.

3. It is possible to have both upgrades from a single basic type but usually, that is rare on
its own merits.

4. It is possible to gain a high-rank version really early.

5. It is possible to gain a mutation version of the regular high-rank job but usually, those are
one of a kind and have a single master claiming said mutation version and it is because
of how specific the embryo ability.

Stat Correction/ Stat Modifiers

Status correction/ modifier is where the embryo increases the master stats but in cases
of type body which has a negative stat modifier or a type apostle which gives no stat modifier. I’ll
give you the rundown of stats in Infinite Dendrogram.

HP: Health points - The attribute that corresponds to life capacity


MP: Mana points - The attribute that corresponds to magical capacity
SP: Skill points - The attribute that corresponds to ability capacity
STR: Strength - The attribute that corresponds to physical prowess
AGI: Agility - The attribute that corresponds to speed demonstration
END: Endurance - The attribute that corresponds to physical defense
DEX: Dexterity - The attribute that corresponds to manufacturing and equipment handling
LUC: Luck - The attribute that corresponds to item drops and fortune
Strength and Agility

STR is directly linked to the force demonstrated

On the other hand, AGI is the speed demonstration value (and acceleration of physical exertion)
is as described by Mary volume 2.AGI does not give the same physical exertion as in STR.
Therefore, High agility does not increase individual damage per hit but increases every hit per
second.

A Simple image of √AGI

AGI: 10 → demonstration value: 3.16

AGI: 100 → demonstration value: 10

AGI: 1000 → demonstration value: 31.6

AGI: 10,000 → demonstration value: 100

As mentioned above, the image that the sound speed has reached the sound speed more than
thirty times that of an ordinary person over 10,000 is close (strictly speaking, it is not as uniform
as this equation)

And when it exceeds 10,000, the calculation formula shifts to supersonic speed of equal
magnification based on AGI 10,000

Although it is impossible to be effective with only AGI because when trying to attack with just by
using AGI without relying on STR or weapon attack power (even for a supersonic punch) the
damage is returned back to the user or even take even more damage than the opponent.

Difference between Defence Power and END

Defence power is the total defensive power including protective equipment,

END is High durability of the body itself and END increases resistance to injured system
abnormalities, also strongly made to the body that does not break the bones to fall from the cliff
to the concrete. Conversely if you are defending with equipment alone, you are more
susceptible to be injured by the system condition abnormality
What exactly is DEX affecting other than production?

Determination of long-range weapon skills such as bow and gun

What does LUC affect?

It is related to the drop of the item and the effect of a specific skills, but it is not usually important
so far However, below 0, the probability of inducing accidental misfortunes rises and the
behaviour and survival begin to be affected

Note that LUC will rise for some jobs

When the status becomes negative

STR: I can’t move because I can’t even support my own weight.

AGI: I have no energy to breathe much. AGI: It is the opposite of acceleration at battle, and the
surroundings feel like passing away fast at high speed.

END: If you run in a bog, your bones will break and the muscle collapse.

DEX: I can’t hold things Etc.

LUC: Misfortune happens that can lead to death.

Consistency and Examples


In this section, we would have to thoroughly check your fanmade embryo to ensure it
doesn’t break your concept and themes.

So the first order of business is can your embryo be countered. Since all embryo within
infinite dendrogram is design as counterplay in situations. For example, Shu Baldr is exceptional
in wide areas, where Baldr can freely use its arsenal to decimate enemies but as a drawback,
Shu can’t bring Baldr to tight and constraint areas fifth form or higher. Additional Baldr,
ammunition is expensive accumulating costs in the billions of Lir.

Another example is BBB, for its exceptional ability in generating gravity boundary that
essentially locks down opponents movements and therefore cannot react but as a drawback,
she can’t use it for long because it drains her MP greatly.
That being said masters use jobs and items to remove some of their embryo limitations,
further enhancing their winning chances overcoming the situation they were up against. As for
examples, just look below.

Shu Starling

Embryo – Type [Guardian – Gear – Fortress – Weapon]

1st Form: An arm-mounted cannon. [Type Arms]


Strength Bullet: Baldr fires a bullet of light that deals damage equalling to Shu's STR stat
multiplied by 35. The bullet is extremely slow and can only be fired once every 24 hours.

2nd Form: A Gatling gun [Type Weapon]


It's not strong enough to work on dragon category monsters and Shu avoids using it on
strong opponents.

3rd Form: A fixed turret cannon. [Type Gear]


It can be operated remotely. Does not have the ability to move and Shu avoids using it
on strong opponents.

4th Form: A tank. [Type Guardian]


It’s a tank that has an autopilot function, allows speech and it is backward compatibility
with the seventh form. Shu avoids using it on strong opponents.

5th Form: A light cruiser. [Type Castle]


It can operate on all terrains. It has modest firepower and it is backward compatibility
with the seventh form. Shu avoids using it on strong opponents.
6th Form: A heavy cruiser.
Has increased firepower and can be operated at sea and it is backward compatibility
with the seventh form. Shu avoids using it on strong opponents.

7th Form: A battleship. [Type Fortress]

The available firepower is increased from the 6th form, unique ammunition can be manufactured
and it possesses living quarters and a self-destruct function.
·​ ​Twin Quintuple Cannon​: A series of cannons mounted on Baldr. Unique
shells can be loaded into it.
·​ ​Stardust Genocider​: A series of missile launchers on the Baldr's deck.
Unique missiles can be loaded into it.
·​ ​Bloody Laser Storm​: A series of laser cannon that can be fired from turrets
located all around the ship. Battery cells for usage are generated and
discarded within the ship. Requires MP to be used.

Ultimate Skill: Peerless God of War, Baldr - Baldr transforms into its Full Offense Mode,
which is a giant robot more than 100 meters in length. The robot is controlled by Shu and can
reproduce all his movements perfectly. Shu's HP is multiplied by 100, his STR is doubled, his
END increases to match his original STR stat and his AGI increases to half of his original STR
stat.
Marie Adler

Embryo – Type Legion

6th form
Phantasmal Raingun, L'Arc-en-Ciel: A Form IV TYPE: Legion Embryo that takes the
form of bullet-like creatures that Marie shoots out of her revolver. The creatures can be given
different abilities depending on what colour paint Marie adds to them. Marie can also use
multiple abilities on creatures at the same time, though the overall power of each ability will be
decreased.

·​ ​Red Burst: Increases power and adds the explosive ability

·​ ​Blue Spread: Increases amount of bullets

·​ ​Green Piercing: Adds piercing ability

·​ ​White Anaesthetic: Adds anaesthetics properties to bullet

·​ ​Silver Flash: Adds holy properties to bullets.

Ultimate skill: P
​ hantasmal Raingun, L'Arc-en-Ciel​, Marie can summon creatures she
paints on pre-prepared bullets with the various colours of paint. Marie uses characters from the
manga “Into the Shadow” for this ability.

Daisy Scarlet the Explosion Murder: Combination of Red and Black

Red Lionheart Star, Cor-Leonis: A Form VII Type: Arms Embryo that takes the form of a
prosthetic heart. As a Superior Embryo, it is tough enough to block a blow from another
Superior Embryo.

·​ ​Arms Selector​: Increases the effects of all equipped items and weapons. The degree of the
increase is inversely proportional to the number of items Figaro has equipped. When fully
equipped, the effects of all Figaro's equipment are doubled.
·​ ​Dance of Anima​: Increases the effect of Arms Selector the longer Figaro fights. When

Cor-Leonis was in its third form, the effect increased 1% every 3 seconds.

Ultimate Skill: Burn Up My Life, Cor-Leonis: The effects of all items and equipment worn
by Figaro are strengthened to the utmost limit. In the case of UBM special rewards, it is possible
for them to display power equal to that of the original monster. However, items reinforced by this
skill will be permanently destroyed after 30 seconds. The skill uses 1% of Figaro's HP per
second and causes his blood to burn in his body.

Great Canopy Atlas: A Form VI Type: Territory Embryo that manipulates the concept of gravity.

·​ ​Heaven's Weight: A boundary that affects everything within the range with increased gravity.
It also applies the 'Binding' debuff to any targets within. The strength of the gravity increases
based on the distance from B3. At 2 meters, gravity is increased 500 times. By compressing
the effective area, gravity can be increased even further to a maximum of 5000 times.
·​ ​Anti-Gravity: Reduces the effect of gravity on the user and their equipment.

Ultimate Skill: Emancipated Giant Atlas: It converts BBB's defence stat to her strength
stat and multiplies that by 10 for 10 seconds.

Form 1: Magic Wand


● Spell Steal : [Active] |MP| Allows Rubric to steal spells from a single entity and has a 20
second [base value] cooldown for each use and has a radius of 20 meters. The stolen
spell would adapt to Rubix total level, can be cast instantly after obtaining but the stolen
spell only lasts for a couple of minutes before disappearing or until Rubric dies. When
Rubric uses spell steal again the previously stolen spell will disappear.
Form 2: Quarterstaff
● Sorcery Cloak : [Passive] Increases magic resistance by 10% [Base value] and decrease
mana consumption for stolen spells by 5% [Base value]
Form 3: Arcane Staff
● Spell Amplification : [Passive] Increases magic amplification by 15% [base value] and
status debuff duration increases by 25% [base value]
Form 4: Scepter
● Magic Spell Storage : [Passive] Increases the number of spells that can be stolen from
entities starting from a total of two spell storage and increases with one spell storage for
each embryo level increase. The last stolen spell will be replaced with a new stolen spell.
Form 5: Magic Scepter
● Arcane Resistance : [Active] |MP| ​Creates a shield that absorbs 40% of the incoming
damage in exchange for Rubric mana.
Form 6: Arcane Scepter
● Arcane Amplification : [Active] |MP| Allows Rubric to add additional functionality to stolen
abilities. For example, an ability that a single unit now targets multiple units.
Form 7: Rubric Scepter
● Arcane Steal : [Active] |MP| Arcane Steal allows Rubric ​stolen spell's level is based on its
level on the enemy as it was stolen if it was a higher level than him or would adapt to Rubric
total level​ and reduces spell steal cooldown to two seconds.
Ultimate Skill: Essence of magic, Arcane Supremacy: [Passive] Rubric enhances stolen spells
by increasing Spell Amplification to 50%, increasing Spell Range by 100 meters and decreasing
spell mana cost by 25%.

Remarks/Notes:

Rubric can steal all forms of spells from embryo type abilities to job dependant abilities
but performance may vary. For example, Rubric can steal Shu Arm mounted cannon and use
his Magic Wand as a medium but he is also restricted in using Shu Arm mounted cannon for its
stat reliance and one-day cooldown. It is almost impossible to steal [Passive Abilities] and [Item
Abilities].

For abilities that require some form of item compensation or transformation, Rubric
would use his MP as a means of substitution for items.

Rubric playstyle is to allow enemy forces to use their abilities first and counter with spell
steal. Spell steal allows Rubric to quickly understand the usage of the stolen spell, therefore, he
can immediately counter said ability with his own or theirs.

Author comments

I am unsure how to balance Rubric due to his nature of adapting enemy or ally spells. In
Infinite Dendrogram, magic is yet to be explained in a proper manner.

In embryo creation, it is hard to grasp what is considered to be balanced due to the


infinite possibility nature of the embryo itself, therefore, try to fit within a certain playstyle or
motif.

By examining Rubric embryo he should be fitted with some sort of magic variant job that
can enhance his MP stat. Also, Rubric would have an increased MP stat modifier to compliment
his embryo mana consumption nature.

I guess the rule of thumb is to try to make it interesting and theme consistent unless your
character is meant to be super boring cardboard that has no right to be called a human.
