GROWING SPIRITUALLY

INTRODUCTION
Spiritual life starts when man accepts Jesus as his Lord and Savior because of
how the Lord Jesus save man from sin by dying on the cross for the sins of man. Even if
this is the start of a spiritual life, this is also the start of a long but needed journey of
following Christ. God does not intend that man only be saved. He wants everyone who
has been saved to be taught to follow all of His will.
Mateo 28:19-20
God wants His people to learn and to be useful for His works while they are still
here on earth.
CQ: What should a Christian do to grow spiritually?
1.) Studying the Word of God
It is very important for a Christian to study the Word of God because it shows how
a Christian should live and what a Christian should do while he is here on earth. As he is
following what the Bible is teaching him, this results for his spiritual growth.

2 types of Christians:
1. Baby Christians
They are the people who recently became Christians. They still have little
knowledge about the Word of God. Older Christians should help them to grow spiritually
and help them fully understand the Word of God.
2. Matured Christians
They are Christians who should have a deep faith in God already. They are usually
taught with deeper and harder lessons from the Word of God and they are also expected
to also teach and guide the younger Christians.

Application:
Spiritual growth is not gauged on how long a person has been a Christian. There
are older Christians who can still be considered immature. There are also Christians, who
have only been Christians for a short time, who can be considered matured Christians
because of how they have been studying and applying the Word of God. This is why we
should study and apply the Word of God in our daily lives because this serves as an
instruments for us to grow spiritually.
