Polygon – plane figure formed by 3 or more segments such that each segment intersects exactly such that each

segment intersects exactly two others, one at each endpoint and no two segments.

When the vertices of a polygon are labeled, it can be named by listing the vertices in order.

Ex. We can name the polygon as PENTA, NTAPE, NEPAT or TNEPA.

CONSECUTIVE SIDES – two sides of a polygon that share a common endpoint.

Ex.

CONSECUTIVE ANGLES – two angles whose vertices are endpoints of the same side.

Ex.

Diagonal – segment joining any two nonconsecutive vertices.

Ex.
Polygon -closed figure which is the union Of three or more Segments, such that:

1. These segments called their sides are non-collinear; and

2. Each segment or side intersects two other sides only at their end points , their vertices.

A convex polygon -simple polygon having the ff. Properties:

1. Every internal angle is less than 180 degrees.

2. Every line segment between two vertices remains inside or on the boundary of the polygon.

A polygon that is not convex is called a non-convex or concave.

Concave polygon - have an interior angle with a measure that is greater than 180 degrees.
