THE PASSIVE VOICE

The active object becomes the passive subject.

Active Voice Passive Voice


Present Simple They write letters at 6pm Letters are written at 6pm
Present They are writing letters now. Letters are being written
Continuous now.
Past Simple They wrote letters. Letters were written.
Past Continuous They were writing letters. Letters were being written.
Future Simple They will write letters. Letters will be written.
Present Perfect They have written letters. Letters have been written.
Past Perfect They had written letters. Letters had been written.

Make passive sentences:


1.Somebody opens the door every morning.
