SUMMARY

Tuberculosis is caused by a bacterial infection of Mycobacterium


tuberculosa. Most tuberculosis bacteria attack the lungs but can also invade
other organs. The source of transmission is a patient with smear positive TB,
which can spread to people around him, especially close contact. At the time
of coughing or sneezing, the patient spread the germs into the air in the form
of droplets (sputum splashes).

The research entitled " The Effect Of Physical Household Environmental


And Residential Density Factors Against Positive BTA of TB Symptoms
In Puskesmas Working Area of Pancoran Mas Sub-District, Depok City,
West Java, Year of 2018" aims to determine the influence of physical
environmental factors and residential density against positive bta of TB
symptoms in Puskesmas working area of Pancoran Mas sub-district, Depok
city, West Java, year of 2018.

This research uses analytical research design with case control approach.
The subjects of this study are people in age at least 15 years who live in
Puskesmas working area of Pancoran Mas sub-district, Depok city. The
sample selection was conducted using Accindental Sampling method with
the sample of 40 people with 1 case ratio: 1 control that is 80 people. The
stastistic test used is Chi Squre with 95% confidence level. The results
showed that showed 3 of the 5 independent variables studied have a
significant relationship to the dependent variable is the area of ventilation (ρ.v
= 0.000, OR = 9.000), air temperature (ρ.v= 0.001, OR = 11.400), and
residential density (ρ.v = 0,000, OR = 12.176).
