Construction Energy Conservation Guideline


1. Discuss ways to save energy during safety meetings and other meetings
attended by those concerned with energy utilization.

2. Create a team to plan, implement, check, and act on all matters


pertaining to energy utilization and conservation.

3. Conduct a project wide energy audit.

4. Turn off all unnecessary lights and office equipment such as computers ,
printers, monitors, air conditioners, etc. at the end of each day. Have
someone check if the lights and equipment are really turned off.

5. Make sure that bulbs and fixtures are checked and maintained regularly.
If possible remove dust and dirt so you can increase the output of your lights.

6. Remind others to turn out the lights and turn off equipment when they leave.

7. While maintaining safe lighting conditions for work areas, remove lamps
from areas that don’t need lights.

8. If possible, replace incandescent floodlights bulbs with fluorescent bulbs.

9. Don’t underestimate the energy efficiency you gain by turning off business
Machines and equipment when not in use.

10. One of the important ways to save energy is to reuse and recycle your paper,
metals, glass, plastics and other industrial materials.
