Philips introduces Eco-friendly Lighting Products in India

The company will start a production line of the products by the end of 2020

New Delhi, September 13th: Philips launches environmental friendly lighting products in India.
The company will eventually start a production line in the country by 2020 with a limited
range.
As the Indo-EU trade talks have covered environmentally friendly products in one of the FTA
agreements, Philips intends to use the agreement to import the products to India, it is an
established player in Germany and EU markets.
Mr ABC, Director of Philips says “The new product launch gives me immense pleasure as India
loses nearly Rs. 5000 crores annually because of high consumption environmental non-
friendly industrial lighting”,
Philips would manufacture the entire range and export from India to neighbouring countries
by 2024.
“The Government of India’s Ministry of Environment and Renewable Energy is encouraging
industries to use environmental-friendly lighting in all their establishments. The introduction
of the product aligns with the government’s schemes” added Mr ABC.

Philips is a Dutch multinational conglomerate corporation headquartered in Amsterdam, one


of the largest electronics companies in the world, currently focused in the area of healthcare
and lighting. Philips is a leader in industrial lighting and already manufactures and markets
energy-saving domestic lighting products. It has been in India for the last 80 years.
