Circular Economy in Textile Industry

Literature Review
The circular economy is a significant factor to valuing the resources, reducing the waste and tackling
the issues of sustainability. (Kirchherr, Reike, & Hekkert, 2017) The circular economy is a useful
source to handle the issues of the textile industry. The waste of textile throw in lands and canals has
brought lots of major concern across the world. (wrap.org.uk, 2016) There is an EU clothing plan is
introduced to improving the textile industry by re-innovate, redesigning and recycling the textile
material through the research and development. Many research reports showed the significance of the
circular economy concept to make useful waste textile material. Many companies are succeeded in
getting the benefits from this concept to maximize the resources to grow more and save the
environment. (Merli, Preziosi, & Acampora, 2018) Companies are now concerning more on the
protection and safety of the environment and the benefits attached to making the efficient use of
waste. This is an integration towards a circular economy to manage and utilize the wastes of the textile
industry ineffective by developing new opportunities and economies in this competitive environment.
(Earley & Goldsworthy, 2015) This research also following the previous research pattern to explore
the circular economy concept to enrich the textile industries with a more sustainable approach toward
waste. So, what are the ways or systems of manufacturing and transforming which leas to the
implementation in textile?
In this report, (Goldsworthy, 2014) there is an innovative way for the implementation of a circular
economy system for production in textile which involves in approaching open design. This paper
aims to acquire insight into the circular economy in creating updated forms of corporations in
collaborating the organization and deriving new ways for approaching sustainability. (Blomsma &
Brennan, 2017) In this present age of research, some researchers are failed to effectively craft and
implement the United concept of a circular economy for the organization. Consequently, (Fletcher,
2014) this research make an effective analysis of comparing and differing concerned reasons
acknowledged from the textile industry and theories derived from organizational analysis and
literature on circular economy to effectively craft theoretical framework. This paper develops a
research pattern for the circular economy approach in textiles. (WWF., 2017) As previous researches
are lacked in providing information and statistics estimation due to the fastest change in the textile
industry in the previous some years. (Ellen MacArthur Foundation (EMF), 2017) Due to the wide
range of the circular economy concept, this report will be helpful in recycling, innovation in waste
and remanufacturing. This paper succeeded in investigating or providing a guide to slow the rate of
resources in great investments that target to especially overcome waste of textile to the natural
environment.
