Satire
The art
of satire has changed over time in that aspects such as the medium in which they are presented
and the audience who receive it must be very meticulously sensitive. This facet of satire has
influenced its efficiency on societal issues due to its relatively insensitive nature. Although, with
correct and efficient use, satire may be a very appealing and effective form of ridicule.
Satire can highlight the efficacies in certain human behaviors and social issues in a way
that give off comedic effect in an amusing and appealing manner which can then reach a larger
audience. Satire also can give the writer certain freedom to efficiently speak about certain
sensitive issues since, its indirective qualities protects the writer’s character. The Late Show,
hosted by Stephen Colbert often includes a satirical monologue at the beginning of each episode
during which Stephen takes the time to criticize certain societal issues under a humorous light.
