(State of Palestine vs the United States of America)

Witness Statement
(R for Robyn, S for Suman)
QR: Witness, please state your full name for the judges
A: Michael Richard Pompeo
QS: Please state your current occupation, when it started, and what the job entails
A: 70th Secretary of State of the United States, from April 26th 2018 till date. The US Secretary of State
is the head of the US Department of State, and considered to be the equivalent of a Minister of Foreign
Affairs.
QR: Please state all former occupations held in chronological order with the length of service
A: From 1986 till 1991, I was in the US Army as an armor officer for West Germany based 2nd
Squadron, 7th Cavalry in 4th Infantry Division. Then I was promoted to a tank platoon leader, later a
cavalry troop executive office, then a squadron maintenance office, and finally a Captain. After the
Army, I served as one of the 78 editors on the Harvard Journal of Law & Public Policy and one of the
81 members of the board of editors on the Harvard Law Review, while I was studying there from 1994
to 1997. After graduation, I worked as an attorney in Williams & Connolly in D.C [Washington]. Later
in ‘98, I moved to Wichita, where I started a business named Thayer Aerospace, now named Nex-Tech
Aerospace after acquiring a few aircraft manufacturers. In 2006, I eventually sold my interest in the
company and became president of Sentry International [Oilfield equipment manufacturer]. In 2010, I
ran for the 4th District congressional seat for Kansas in the House of Representatives and continued till
2016, wherein I won. On January 23rd 2017, 2 days after the inauguration of President Trump, I was
named Director of the Central Intelligence Agency of the United States, which I continued till April
26th 2018.

[To Judges, Presidents, and Applicant Advocates, with the extensive government background and long
length of government service, it can be established that the witness is an expert, therefore leading
questions should be permitted]
QS: Please explicitly name the current foreign policy the US maintains in Israel
A: Well, recently the embassy was moved due to a change in administration policy and application of
1995 Jerusalem Embassy Act, wherein the Embassy was due to be moved since 1996. Jerusalem is the
centre of Israeli government services of legislation, execution, judiciary, with the exception of the
military. The move to Jerusalem also allows the United States to maintain a new Palestinian Affairs
Unit in order to maintain contact with the region since we don’t officially recognize it as a state. The
movement is considered to be for the benefit of both the Israeli and Palestinian parties, and regardless
of the move, the United States considers the issue of governance over Jerusalem to be of utmost
importance.
QR: Please explain the reason behind the movement of the US embassy from Tel Aviv to
Jerusalem.
A: Contrary to popular belief, the movement of the US embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem does not
indicate a change in the position of the United States on the Israeli-Palestinian territorial dispute. It
does not consider Israeli sovereignty over Jerusalem. By law, the United States recognizes that
Jerusalem is a city of socio-cultural and religious importance to several different peoples, and
therefore is an area of international importance

QS: Is it true that under both the UN Charter, the United States has sovereignty, and therefore
authority, to move its embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem?
A: Yes, it is true. With Jerusalem as a “no man’s land” as proven by a number of evidence, the United
States have every right to move its embassy to Jerusalem. The United States would also like to highlight
that as one of the five permanent members of the United Nations, the actions of the United States stand
by the purposes of the UN, to develop friendly relations among the United States based on the respect
for the principle of equal rights and self-determination.
QR: RESOLUTION ABSTENTIONS
A: Out of respect for Israel, and the fact that we hold

General Questions (Cross-Examination)

I will choose to refuse the question. Thank you.

The US national law supersedes UN Resolutions, therefore it has the right and sovereignty to move its
embassy to Jerusalem.

American only advocates for peace and such Trump Peace Plans allow us to do so.
