The outfit Wolf made its appearance in the world of

motor-racing back in 1976 when the Canadian Walter

Wolf founded the Walter Wolf Racing.
The team took part in four editions of the World
Formula 1 Championship between 1976 and 1979
competing with several drivers among which shine the
names of Jody Scheckter, Jacky Ickx, Chris Amon and
Arturo Merzario.
3 wins, one of which at the debut, 1 pole position, 2
fastest lap of the race, 13 podiums and 79 points are
the figures of that period.
In parallel to the Formula 1 commitment, in 1977 Wolf
built aclosed-wheels Can-Am challenger while in 1978
a Formula 3 single seater was produced in
collaboration with Dallara.

The brand Wolf with its characteristic golden-black

livery made its comeback in 2009, when the Italian
team Avelon Formula, led by Giovanni Bellarosa, after
buying Wolf’s rights, decided to start an innovative
project: the Wolf GB08.
The car, a class CN2 Sport Prototype powered by a 2
liters Honda engine has been produced with high
ambitions aiming to open a new era in the category.

International success was obtained in the Eurosport

Ivan Bellarosa like Jody Scheckter. The comparison

may appear irreverent, however to the Avelon Formula
Team’s representative it must be recognized the
honour of having been able to repeat a historical
achievement for the Wolf brand that has come back to
races after years.
Prototypes Italian Championship first test held in the
morning in Misano. Bellarosa has succeeded with the
compared to the Wolf GB08. Bellarosa has taken grey
hair fans back to memories of the Jody Scheckter's
performance when he won the Argentine Gp in 1977
and allowed the entry of WR01 in the Walter Wolf
Racing team, thus gaining great admiration in the
Circus.
The Wolf GB08 is equipped with a carbon fibre frame
and with a 250 horsepower / two litres Honda engine.

Wolf: The beast is out of the cage again !
The beast still bites. No longer in the F.1 Circus where it
hasn’t been running for 31 years, but now among the
Italian Prototypes. No matter where…Seeing the gold,
night dark blue colours win in the race track is always
giving emotion, no matter whether it is Jody
Scheckter or Ivan Bellarosa behind the wheel. in fact it
is the lasting of a dream which inflames! It's a fact that
this historic incendiary sparkle that had been able to
ravage the F1 Circus with its aggressive tale, still goes
on. And it shines with the light tones of nostalgia.
