2019 SEARCH FOR ULIRANG GURO AT PAMBANSANG ULIRANG GURO OF THE

MANILA TEACHERS’ SAVINGS AND LOAN ASSOCIATION INC.

The Manila Teachers’ Savings and Loan Association Inc. (MTSLAI) will hold its 2019 Search for Ulirang Guro at
Pambansang Ulirang Guro with the theme, Guro: Ilaw at Tanglaw ng Kabataang Pilipino.

The search aims to recognize teachers who have exerted special, admirable, and herculean efforts in order to
teach and educate the Filipino youth.

Teachers from public elementary and secondary schools holding permanent appointment and teaching for the
last five years may join the search. The following are the qualifications of a nominee:

1. He/She must be a Filipino citizen;

2. He/She must have an average performance rating of Very Satisfactory for the last three years;
3. He/She must not be on leave during the period of his/her nomination;
4. He/She must be of unquestionable integrity;
5. He/She must not have been suspended or sanctioned for violation of administrative policies,
rules and regulations;
6. He/She must have no pending criminal, civil, or administrative case;
7. He/She must not be a spouse or first-degree relative of an officer or employee of MTSLAI; and
8. He/She must not have been conferred the Outstanding Teacher Award at the National Level for
the past five years by any award-giving body (government organizations and nongovernment
organizations).

The school principal/head must endorse the nominee’s accomplished nomination form, written essay, audio-
video presentation, and other requirements, among other documents to the schools division superintendent (SDS) on
or before July 31, 2019. The SDS shall select and endorse the schools division nominee to the regional director (RD)
on or before August 30, 2019. The RD shall choose the regional nominee and endorse him/her to the National Board
of Judges on or before September 30, 2019. The National Board of Judges shall then choose the Ulirang Guro for
Southern Luzon, Northern Luzon, National Capital Region (NCR), Visayas, and Mindanao among the regional winners
on or before November 29, 2019. The 2019 Pambansang Ulirang Guro shall be chosen from the Ulirang Guro winners
from Southern Luzon, Northern Luzon, NCR, Visayas, and Mindanao.

Winners will receive the following prizes:
