DESCRIPTION
This Training Provide the students to obtain the technical
standards covered include the full API ‘body of knowledge’
for the examination
PURPOSE
1. Have knowledge and expertise in the area of Welding
Inspection and Metallurgy based on the information
contained in API RP 577
2. Understand requirements and methods for
nondestructive examination which are referenced and
required by other code Sections. It also includes manu
facturer's examination responsibilities, duties of
authorized inspectors and requirements for qualification
of personnel, inspection and examination.
3. Understand rules relating to the qualification of welding
and brazing procedures as required by other Code
Sections for component manufacture.
4. Able to improve safety, reliability, and minimize liability
of fixed equipment by learning common damage
mechanisms in the refining and petrochemical industry
as covered in API 571. The roles of the engineer and
inspector in identifying affected materials and
equipment, critical factors, appearance of damage,
prevention and mitigation, inspection and monitoring
will be covered to introduce the concepts of service-

induced deterioration and failure modes.
5. Able to understand the material and quality assurance
system to verify that the nominal composition of alloy
components within the pressure envelope of a piping
system is consistent with the selected or specified
construction materials to minimize the potential for
catastrophic release of toxic or hazardous liquids or vapors.
6. Able to understand how piping systems function and what
the Code requirements are for various types of installations.
The students are also hoped to understand the limitations
on the selection and application of materials and
components; requirements for the fabrication, assembly,
and erection of piping; and requirements for examination,
inspection, and testing of piping
7. Able to understand pressure– temperature ratings,
materials, dimensions, tolerances, marking, testing, and
methods of designating openings for pipe flanges and
flanged fittings
8. Able understand the purpose, scope, and responsibilities
defined in API 570. It also covers the inspection types &
intervals, inspection data evaluation, calculate MAWP of
piping system, repairs, alterations & rerating as well as
underground piping.
9. Able identify inspection practices for piping, tubing, valves
(other than control valves), and fittings used in petroleum
refineries and chemical plants.

and Existing Assets
6. ASME V Non-Destructive Examination
7. ASME IX Welding and Brazing Qualification, Welding Only
8. ASME B16.5 Pipe Flanges and Flanged Fittings; and
9. ASME B 31.3 Process Piping.

REQUIREMENTS
1. Education and Experience
• Minimum D3 Engineering 2 years work experience in the
field Piping Engineer
2. Photocopy of the last diploma
3. Photocopy of KTP / Passport / Kitas
4. Photographs size 4 × 6, 3 × 4 and 2 × 3 respectively 3
sheet (red background)
5. Letters of Recommendation from Leaders / Direct Managers
/Work Partners (if any)
6. K3 Training Certificate that has been previously attended
(if there)
7. CV or Certificate of Work Experience
