length 300mm)
2) Tool Holder S32U PCLNR 12 (i.e., Dia. 32 finishing boring bar of
length 350mm)

Where, S = Solid steel tool

25/32 = Dia. of cylindrical shank (25mm for sl.no.1 and 32mm for
sl.no.2)
T /U = Length of tool (300mm for sl.no.1 and 350mm for
sl.no.2)
P = Type of clamping (inside lever type)
C = Shape of insert (rhomboidal, 80 deg.)
L = Style of tool (approach angle 95 deg.)
N = Clearance angle of insert ( 0 deg.)
R = Hand of cutting (right hand)
12 = Size of insert ( one side of rhombus=12 mm)

3) Insert for above tool holder:

This may be designated as below

Where, C = Shape of insert (rhombic with nose angle 80 deg.)

N = Clearance angle ( 0 deg. )
M = Tolerance in thickness, corner point, inscribed circle etc.
G = Fixing / or chip breaker detail (with hole, with chip breaker on
both side)
12 = Insert size (12mm)
04 = Insert thickness (4.76mm)
08 = Corner radius (0.8mm)
