Based on data from the Central Statistics Agency (2016), the number of Indonesian population
from 2007 to 2016 continues to grow, from 225.6 million in the year 2007 continues to be up to 258.7
million in 2016. The increase in population is comparable to the increase in food needs, followed by the
development of the livestock industry that contributes large contributions in the agricultural sector.
Success in the farm business can be determined one of them from the selection of good seeds. The Good
Day Old Chick (DOC) seedlings are produced from a nursery company that implements proper
maintenance management covering biosecurity and sanitation, the management of the perp, feed and
drink, production. For that, the activities of field work practices (PKL) in PT. Charoen Pokphand Jaya Farm
Unit 1 Rembang held on 17 June until 17 July 2019 which aims to study the maintenance management of
broiler parent stock In PT. Charoen Pokphand JayaFarm Unit 1 Rembang.

The material of this PKL activity is the chicken parentstock broiler strains of Ross the laying phase
of the existing in PT. Charoen Pokphand Jaya Farm Unit 1 Rembang with a land area of 15 hectares with
an initial population of chickens as much as 220,000 tails. The methods used are live interviews, active
participation, direct observation, literature study and data analysis of the monitoring results during the
PKL.

Results of the activities of PKL, PT. Charoen Pokphand Jaya Farm Unit1 Rembang is the chicken
parentstock broiler strains of Ross with a Sex ratio between males and females 1:10. For its health
management include sanitation and biosecurity which covers several aspects i.e. vehicles, employees,
cage, equipment, goods and environment. In system its uses a close-type cage that is stretched from east
to west a number of 20 stables. The cage is 120 metres long, 12 meters wide, and is 3 meters tall and is
12 meters from the cage. The cage floor uses a combination system of litter and slat, while the roof
enclosure uses a gable model.

Feeding is done in restricted feeding (limited) given at 06.15 WIB between male and female
simultaneously. Provision of drinking ad libitum with a nipple that is directly connected to the water
supply. For its egg production management, it includes collecting eggs 6 times a day, fumigation for the
first egg intake, and the grading done every time.

Conclusion of the PKL activities at PT. Charoen Pokphand Jaya Farm Unit 1 Rembang is a
management that has been done right now and in accordance with the procedure that has been held by
the company.
