Offenses and Penalties Regulations Applied to Organizations’ Workers
Pursuant to Minister of Labour’s Report No. (36) For 2012

Article 1:
These Regulations are called Offenses and Penalties Regulations for 2016” which are issued pursuant to
Regulations of Article (74-75) of the Labour Law of Bahrain for Private Sector for 2012, Law No. (36); it shall be
valid and applicable unless it is amended or a new regulation is issued pursuant to the Provisions of Law.
Article 2: Disciplinary Penalties that may be applied to the worker according to the labour regulations and the
establishment’s work regulations as follows:
1. Verbal warning.
2. Written warning.
3. Postponement of the date of entitlement to the annual increment for a period not exceeding 3 months.
4. Suspension from the work in addition to deduction from the salary for a period not exceeding one
month in a year and no more than 5 days on each occasion.
5. Postponement of the promotion upon being entitled thereto for a period not exceeding one year.
6. Dismissal from service according to the provisions of this law.
7. The penalty provided for in Sub-clause (3) shall be inflicted in the establishments that have an
increment system.
Article 3: Discharge without notice or remuneration or compensation:
The Employer may terminate employment contract without a notice or compensation in the cases as follows:
11. If the employee is unfit to practice, the subject contract, due to cancelation of his work permit or losing his
qualifications that enable him to carry out the work agreed upon.

Note: All penalties and deductions are accompanied with written warnings including type of offence, and are handed
over the violator to be signed by him; if he refuses to sign it, it shall be signed by two witnesses who proved that refusal,
or to be sent to his address with a registered letter.
