in order to customize your project and get started.

INSTALLATION

Before you get started please install “TypeX” script.

You have to copy "TypeX.jsxbin" and "TypeX_Assets" folder in Adobe After Effects "Script UI" folder.

Windows:
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe After Effects CC[x]\Support Files\Scripts\ScriptUI Panels

Mac:
/Applications/After Effects CC[x]/Scripts/ScriptUI Panels

Also you should allow scripts to write files here:


Edit -> Preferences -> General -> Allow Scripts to Write Files and Access Network

Restart After Effects and launch the script


Window -> TypeX
IMPORT PRESETS

Important!

Once you have installed the script, you will need to open or import the presets compositions
to the project panel.

File -> Import -> File... and choose “TypeX_VOL.05_Presets.aep” file


PROJECT STRUCTURE

All elements are structured into a TypeX folder

All the solids and additional animation elements are in the Assets folder

In the folder Fonts are all previously added fonts.

In the Instances folder are instances of the animation


that are created automatically. You do not need to edit them.

Here are all the Animation Presets.


You can duplicate them, change various animation settings.
But notice, you cannot delete or add layers in this compositions!

When creating text compositions, they are placed in the Text folder.
After that you can move them to any other folder in your project.
SELECTION & TEXT EDITOR

2 Creates an independent copy of the selected text composition

4 A field for entering text. You can enter multi-line text

ANIMATION PRESET

10 Allows you to collapse and expand the interface blocks 10

If you change the original animation, click this button to update
an instance of the animation in the current text composition.

13 Here displays color swatches related to the selected text composition.

14 Copies the current color palette for further use with the Bucket button

15 Applies colors previously copied using the Eyedropper button

16 Resets the colors to the values specified in the original animation preset

17 Toggles the display of the gradient fill for text

18 Switches the text composition to preview mode to improve performance.


This allows you to work more comfortably on the project. Do not forget to disable this mode before rendering.

19 Changes the random seed for the current animation


FORMTAT TEXT

20 Adds controls for animating various text parameters using 20


expressions. Controls can be found on the Controller layer inside

the text composition.

To do this, select any text layer, and then click this button.

23 Set the text alignment (left, center, right)

24 Set the leading (line spacing). To apply click the "Apply" button.

25 Set the font size. To apply click the "Apply" button

26 Set the tracking (character spacing). To apply click the "Apply" button.

27 Adds the skew of the text horizontally

TIME CONTROLS

29 Changes the animation duration. If you have switched to editing mode


with controls, you can drag the "end" marker on the "Controller" layer
to change the duration. 29 30

30 Sets the random time offset in frames. 31 32

31 Sets the time offset in percentage.

32 Sets the position where characters animation begins.


Enter values from 0 to 100 (from left to right)
WARP TEXT

34 Sets the strength of the bend. Enter values from -100 to 100
STATUS BAR MESSAGES

You need to import presets file (read page 3) You need to select a text layer or a text composition.

Original preset composition missing. Maybe you deleted Text layer selected.

Layer “Char_1” deleted or renamed. Multiple text layers selected.
