Starting January 1, 2010, Norway has introduced new

immigration rules. According to the new requirements, you will

not need to ask for a residence permit in the country, it will be
enough to register. By registering, you can live in the country
for three months. If after the expiration of this period or during it
you left the country, the countdown of the duration of the new
visit begins anew. If you have lived in Norway for three months
and have not registered, after this period you will have to leave
the country.
Register on the Internet at https://selfservice.udi.no/, print out
the document for registration, report to the Foreign Service
Center (SUA) or the police (Politi) at the appointed time. Here
are the documents you submit to SUA or to the police.
Before starting work

The most important thing to have before starting work in

Norway:
Norwegian personal identification code (D or ID) (see here)
Skattekort tax card. This document will indicate the amount of
taxes that the employer must transfer from your salary to the tax
office. Order a card at the tax office or SUA, presenting your
employment contract and ID. You will receive the card by mail
a week after the date of its order. As soon as you receive a tax
card, immediately present it to your employer. At the beginning
of each year, a new card is automatically issued. If you do not
present the card to the employer during the first month of your
work, he will deduct 50% of your salary for taxes. You can
return this overpayment if you have the proper documents - a tax
card and a salary sheet. Find more information on the website of
the tax office www.skatteetaten.no.
The bank account to which your salary will be transferred. In
your chosen bank, provide a permanent or temporary Norwegian
personal code and passport. Not all banks recognize an ID card
as an identification card, so you need to have a passport with
you.
