REFLECTION PAPER

Based on the handouts that I’ve read, there are different forms of art. They are Visual art, Applied
art, and Performing arts. First is the visual art which uses medium such as paintings, drawing,
sculptures, and photography. Second is the Applied art is a portion of visual art which is the
application of art in the real-world such as Architecture, wood crafts, and fashion and interior
design. Third, performing arts which is the most appreciated form of art such as dance, music,
opera, films, theater, drama, magic shows, and stand up comedies. Furthermore, Visual and
applied art have differences and the main difference is that fine art is intended to create beauty
and pleasure in looking while applied art is intended to be an aesthetic approach to perform duty.
Art can also help develop one’s thinking abilities by empathy. Empathy contributes to develop
other skills by putting yourself in someone else’s shoes. Imagining the experiences of others is a
pathway for other complex mental exercises. It also give you a good handle on navigating in a
world on crowd. Engaging in different forms of art can exercise you mentally and emotionally.
Art is like in life. Sometimes over and sometimes under. That’s why artist’s painting worth barely
anything when they are painted but can sell for million decades after. Most of the time when a
painter dies, their work never to be heard or seen again. However, there can be a time when
society changes and someone may rediscover the art, resurrects and re-celebrated. Art may go
through a process of re-analysis and cause it to sustain value over a long period. Moreover, Art
may come back and forth – in and out favor with society. The price of the art depends on the
willingness of people to pay when it comes to marketplace. Some people pay millions of dollars
for an art that mean nothing for others.
