REVISING THE CHAPTER OF THE PHILIPPINE TOURISM AUTHORITY CREATED

UNDER PRESIDENTIAL DECREE NO. 189, DATED MAY 11, 1973

WHEREAS, in pursuit of this aim the Department of Tourism was created under the Presidential
Decree No. 189 as the primary policy, planning, programming, coordinating and administrative
entity of the government in the development of the tourism industry, with the Philippine Tourism
Authority attached to it to plan and implement specific tourism developments projects; and

DONE in the City of Manila, this 2nd day of October, in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred
and seventy-four.
