EXT. MENTAL ASYLUM. MID-DAY.

LONG SHOT/DOLLY SHOT

Marie has just been taken into the psych ward to have an
assessment done on her sanity after taking her 4-year-old
son's life in cold blood in repercussion of her husband's
infidelity. Marie is in a mental psych ward, she seems quite
calm and collected however as we get a more in-depth view of
her facial expressions she seems more intense, yet still
acting naturally.

(flashback to her running away

from the scene of the crime)

EXT. WOODS. NIGHT.

CLOSE UP SHOT HANDHELD

Marie, with blood all up to her arms and her clothes more
torn up and distressed, is running through the woods away
from the crime scene.

(this is a flashback so the

colours will be much more hue to
intensify the situation as at
this very moment the audience is
unsure of what she has done to
end up in this situation)

EXT. MENTAL ASYLUM. MID-DAY.

MID-SHOT

Marie is much happier than she was before, but not happy in
the typical sense of being joyful but more of an insane sense
of happiness as she does not fully grasp the intensity of her
actions right at this moment. All she can think about is how
she has finally gotten back at her husband for cheating on
her with another woman.

EXT. WOODS. NIGHT.

THE CAMERA IS BEING HANDHELD TO SHOW REALISM IN THIS SCENE.

Marie is still running but this time adrenaline has kicked in

and she will be showing obvious signs of discomfort as she is
starting to realise what she's done. Her running becomes more
disorientated an unbalanced so she sits down against a tree
and shows physical signs of discomfort by pulling down on her
hair and smacking her hand against her cheek starting to cry.

EXT. MENTAL ASYLUM. MID-DAY.

EXTREME CLOSE UP WITH FAST SHOTS

Marie's emotions have switched up and she's moving much more

fast-paced and in your face, as she's become much more angry
over the course of her being locked up in the psych ward.
Clawing at her face and gripping forcefully onto her hair,
pulling down on it showing clear signs of her having no
remorse for her crimes; only distaste of her being here and
being persecuted.

MARIE:
FUCK FUCK FUCK...FUCK HIM! FUCK HIM!
FUCK HIM!!!

EXT. WOODS. NIGHT.

CLOSE UP SHOT

She is still leaning against the tree, but she is showing

signs of exhaustion as the adrenaline begins to wear off and
she has to think about the recent events in all their
details, not having anywhere to run as its all in her own
head.

EXT. MENTAL ASYLUM. MID-DAY.

A MIX OF CLOSE UP SHOTS AND EXTREME CLOSE-UPS

She is now becoming more distressed and even going as far as

to start crying, even though its not the normal type of
crying out of heartbreak its not about the crime she has
committed it is about the fact she is being held accountable
for her actions when she has convinced herself that her
husband is the greatest evil within this situation when in
actual fact it is now her that is the antagonist, not him.

EXT. STAIRS HEADING UPSTAIRS

LONG SHOT SLOWLY PANNING IN TO FOCUS SOLELY ON THE BOTTOM

PART OF HER BODY WITH THE WEAPON EXPOSED BUT NOT HER UPPER
BODY.

She is walking up the stairs to her son's room, the

atmosphere is extremely eerie as her steps are much slower
and more calculated, we can see the knife in her right hand
and just how tightly she is gripping onto it; showing just
how determined she is to go through with it. As she reached
her son's room she slowly opens the door and the shots cut's
to just her feet walking in, we do not see the child.

EXT. DOOR. MID-DAY

CAMERA IS ZOOMING IN ON CLOSE-UPS OF THE DRAWING ON THE DOOR,

EACH DRAWING GETTING DARKER TO SHOW THE OBVIOUS DECLINE IN
THE MOTHER'S MENTAL HEALTH IS A BIG PART OF HER CHILD'S LIFE.

(marie:)
everything will be alright mommy is
just going to help you sleep

VOICE OVER:

*child screaming as she stabs him with the knife*

EXT. MENTAL ASYLUM. MID-DAY.

DOLLY SHOT

She is sitting on the chair with a neutral facial expression

and a relaxed posture not having a care in the world as the
analysis ends.

MARIE:
are we done yet?

*CAMERA FADES TO BLACK*
