Dhaka University Day 2018

Dhaka University Career Club celebrated 97th years of University of Dhaka on July 1st conducting
a rally with the Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Md Akhtaruzzaman and other clubs and
organizations of University of Dhaka. This rally started at 10am morning from VC Chattar with
the executive committee members of Dhaka University Career Club.
তারুণ্যেরজণ্ াৎসব
Dhaka University Career Club (DUCC) arranged the opening ceremony of “তারুণ্যেরজণ্ াৎসব “
in collaboration with প্রথমআণ্ া and Crown Cement on April 4th, 2018 in the Conference Hall
of Faculty of Business Studies, University of Dhaka. The event was inaugurated by our very own
Professor Shibly Rubaiyat Ul Islam, Dean of Faculty of Business Studies, University of Dhaka and
He was the chief guest of the event

➢ -Creating awareness among young people
➢ -introducing students with young talents
➢ -Introducing students with the successful young stars of Bangladesh in different fields
Dhaka University Career Club 9th Birthday Celebration
Dhaka University Career Club celebrated its 9th birthday on 25th April 2018 with the members of
executive board and mentors. It was organized in the Food Court of Faculty of Business Studies,
University of Dhaka. Clubs such as “FBS Music Wing”, “FBS Dance Squad”, “The Spartan’s
Communication Club”, “Dhaka University Marketing Club” , “Skill Hunt Bangladesh”,
“University of Dhaka Accounting Forum –UDAF” , “Dhaka University Management Club” , and
“Jagannath University Career Club” was invited to celebrate the birthday.

Dhaka University Career Fest 2018
Dhaka University Career Club organized Dhaka University Career Fest under the theme “Hiring
The Future” on 16th and 17th of July 2018. The fest, arranged in Teacher-Student Centre (TSC),
University of Dhaka, was specially planned for fresher’s and job seekers of University of Dhaka.
Dhaka University Career Club (DUCC) connected with various public and private universities of
Bangladesh to make this event successful. This fest was settled up to chain the employers with
their desired and potential employees, where numerous opportunities to sort and select the
qualified candidates were available.
Objectives
-collecting CVs from the graduated students of University of Dhaka and other universities
-Helping fresher’s of University of Dhaka finding their dream job
-connecting employers with their required employees
-rising knowledge about career, communication and BCS among students

Success Party of Dhaka University Career Fest 2018
Dhaka University Career Club arranged a "Success Party" of Dhaka University Career Fest 2018 on
7th September. Dr. ABM Shahidul Islam, the chief co-ordinator, and Rashedur Rahman, the
moderator of the club was with us in the program. The presence of former DUCC presidents made
the event more delightful. The objective of this success party was not only to celebrate the day, but
also to reward people whose excellent performance made the career fest more successful. Crests &
certificates were rewarded to the hard-working people of DUCC on that day. The reception of the
new executives also held at the same time.
General Member Recruitment 2018
Dhaka University Career Club, a club that strives to provide career insights and support for all the
students and graduates of the University, it has been accepted general membership for 2018-2019
sessions. This club not only enhances career awareness among the students, but also gives various
opportunities to learn from a proper corporate/management culture, to gain practical experiences
by arranging events, workshops, seminars, to meet with corporate bodies to office tours to show
how employees actually deal with regular work and challenges. To give proper guidelines for
building career along with developing skills and to give the opportunity to enhance experience
through different activities such as recruiting General Members.

Faculty and Institute Executive Hunt 2018

Among the clubs of Dhaka University, a well-respected club, “Dhaka University Career Club”,
organized seminars, workshops and competitions to make students aware about their career. This
year the club is organizing “Faculty and Institute Executive Hunt”, which will be selected from
different faculties and institutes, which will lead the best students to the whole university. Apart
from developing skilled communication skills and leadership skills, the selected executives will
also have the opportunity to make a large network of campuses across the campus. Beside the
central executive committee will also have the opportunity to work on upcoming DUCC Job
Portal with promotion.

Launching Ceremony 2018

Dhaka University Career Club (DUCC) always yearns to take on career awareness activities for
the students of University of Dhaka, to keep up the legacy this renowned club planned
something mesmerizing for the students this time. On the 13th of November a program was
held at the Shishu Academy titled as "General Member Skill Development Program and Website
Launching Ceremony" and it was inaugurated by the honourable Vice Chancellor of University
of Dhaka, Prof. Dr. Akhtaruzzaman. Dhaka University Career Club arranged its Official Website
Launching Ceremony which was followed by a Skill Development Program for the students of
University of Dhaka. The program was conducted through two sessions. In the first session, our
guest speakers delivered their valuable insights for the students. The guest speakers were Kazi
Mahbub Hasan, Chief Strategy & Transformation Officer, Grameenphone; Uzma Chowdhury,
Director of Pran RFLand Tina Jabeen, Deputy project, ICT innovation. In the second session,
honourable Vice Chancellor delivered his overwhelming speech and launched the website of
the club. The moderator of the club Rashedur Rahman and the director of Shishu Academy Anjir
Liton were also present on the program. The newly joined members of the club were given a
warm welcome through the program.

Student Leadership Development Workshop

Good leadership skills is a must in today's world. Whether we gained extraordinary leadership
qualities naturally or not, it is a must to groom this skill, in order to reach new heights.
With a view to helping you achieve this skill, a Student Leadership Development Program for
the students of the University of Dhaka is going to be conducted with the support from US
Embassy, Dhaka and Dhaka University Career Club. Some of the themes for the workshop will
be Policy and Advocacy in Bangladesh, Leadership, Capacity building and Skills Development,
Role of youth in community development and peace building programs etc. The program
consists of six workshops and one seminar. The Workshops will start from January 2019 till
April 2019. The selection and viva process has been completed for this workshop. The workshop
sessions will be held every Friday .

Seminar on “Higher Education in North America”
Higher education is much needed for better career opportunities and to elevate our aspirations and
potential. Dhaka University Career club has arranged a seminar on “Higher Education in North
America” at Faculty of Business Studies on 10th October, 2018 in order to provide the students
with clear thoughts about higher studies and the procedures regarding it. There were three
experienced figures-Nazmi sari, Ph.D., professor, Dept. of Economics, University of
Saskatchewan, Joel Bruneau, Associate professor and Head, Dept. of Economics, University of
Saskatchewan, DR. MobinulHuq, Associate professor, Dept. of Economics, University of
Saskatchewan. They talked about the quintessential issues regarding international education and
their first-hand experience. They also described the do’s and don’ts while applying to study abroad
so that we can have a clear direction in the competitive sphere.

Soft skills fest


The soft skills, which were covered in the "Soft Skills Fest", arranged by Bangladesh Skill
Development Institute (BSDI). Dhaka University Career Club (DUCC) is working as one of the proud
associate partners of this event. The participants got the chance to learn these skills from the
experts.
