Title: Sustainable Energy Solutions for University Campus of NITK, Surathkal

Duration: July 2015 – April 2016
Team Size: 5
Brief Description: The project aims to design a 100% Renewable energy system for the university
campus, which looks for viable alternate energy sources while taking into account the economic
constraints as well.
Individual Role:

Title:

Title: Design and Simulation of a Two Degree of Freedom Mass Varying System
Duration: January 2015 – April 2015
Team Size: 5
Brief Description: Objective of this mini project was to calculate the Ratio of amplitude of the two
masses, simulation and static deflection of the system and variation of amplitude with time for the
given stiffness, damping coefficients, initial mass of the system and rate of change of mass of a mass
varying system
Individual Role:
 Derived the governing equations for the project.

Title: Design and Simulation of Hart Mechanism

Duration: August 2013- December 2013
Team Size: 4
Brief Description: The scope of the project was to analyze position, velocity, acceleration, static and
dynamic forces of the HART straight line mechanism.
Individual Role:
 Coded various equations into Matlab so that the various results could be computed.

 SUSTAINABLE ENERGY SOLUTIONS FOR UNIVERSITY CAMPUS Ongoing

Mentor: Dr. Vasudeva M Team Size: 5 NITK

The project aims at design a “100% Renewable energy system” for our university campus,
which looks for viable alternate sources while taking into account the economic constraints as well.
We are looking to publish a paper based on this project as well so that other colleges can make use
of our research and implement it into their systems so that we can look to a greener tomorrow.

 DESIGN AND SIMULATION OF A TWO DEGREE OF FREEDOM MASSS VARYING

SYSTEM Spring 2015
Mentor: Dr. K V Gangadharan Team Size: 5 NITK

Objective of this mini project was to calculate the following for the given stiffness, damping
Coefficients, initial mass of the system and rate of change of mass of a mass varying system (2
DOF)
1) Ratio of amplitude of the two masses.
2) Simulation of the system.
3) Static Deflection of the System.
4) Variation of amplitude with time.
Role: Mainly involved with deriving the governing equations for the above project.

 DESIGN AND SIMULATION OF HART MECHANISM Fall 2014

Mentor: Dr. KV Gangadharan Team Size: 4
NITK

The scope of the project was to analyze position, velocity and acceleration, and static and
Dynamic forces of the HART straight line mechanism. These have been accomplished to the fullest.
Role: To code the various equations into Matlab so that the various results could be computed.
