Home Care to Elderly

In our families, there are some of our family member that need our care. These people are, our

grandparents, parents and even our siblings too need our attention. But sometimes it turns hard to

provide the care to them adequately due to the following obstacles;

First, much physical demand by the work. Too many older people such as our grandparents

sometimes they need us to get them out of their beds and return them, feed them and also bath

them too. All these are some of the things that are giving many caretakers a hard time in the

provision of their service to them. The second obstacles are meeting some of the things outside

your professional. Sometimes some of the caretakers or anyone may come across some tasks that

he/she have no skills on it (Lawton et al., 2016). Therefore, it becomes a challenge for them to deal

with. The other obstacle is invisibility of the family work, which they deal with the issues silently

and not involving themselves in social and community works also is a challenge. However, there

are some alternatives to elderly home care that helps those working at home to make it to comfort.

The first program is Adult day-care services. The program offers health, social and other services

to senior adults who require supervision. They also provide services such as food, bathing and

many other activities (Scharlach et al., 2016). The day is meant for elders’ day and will help in the

location of many elders in the society. The second is In-home services. They deploy many

caregivers to various place that they will help the family in bringing comfort to mothers. Also

deploying of caregivers will help in locating many elderly people in society.

There many groups were giving that provide support to a caregiver with required resources. These

groups include caregiver action network which provides support for rare diseases by providing the

toolbox and many other cares (Hunter et al., 2018). Also, family caregiver alliance that works to

improve quality service for caregivers. There is also a national family caregiver support program

which provides support by funding family caregiver.

Many methods of providing care by caretakers have been improved through several inventions

that have taken place in many fields. The inventions include remote patients monitoring, telehealth,

among other inventions. The telehealth is the health-related information distribution through

computers, telephones or even smartphones (Zarit et al., 2018). The use of computers smartphones

among other technology related quicken the distribution of the information and it also makes the

communication between the caregiver and the family members easy hence offering their services

will be easy across the family.

The government also support the care of the elderly in society by setting a set of rules to govern

them. Some of these laws include; independence, dignity and choice in long time care. Which the

funding of the balance of the programs for home nursing of the elderly. The second policy is

intergenerational respite care assisted living facility pilot program, which creates a pilot program

to care for adults and children, among other laws.
