BACKGROUND OF SHAHI:

Shahi group started its operations in 1973. It was the first company to introduce form – fill – seal
machine packaging for a product that was totally novel for the consumers of that time. It has
been over 40 years since Shahi was formed, but even today Shahi leads by introducing
automated plants and machinery. Shahi is of the first and only local producer in its industry with
state of the art production facilities. It is by being focused on delighting its customers with the
best range of mouth fresheners and snacks in the market that Shahi now is a household name and
its products are sold not only domestically, but also in far-flung corners of the globe.

The company started with just one product “Shahi Supari” and made its place in the hearts of
every household in Karachi. Later, the company launched its range of Mouth Fresheners,
catering to different consumers. Snack Products and Frozen Products were other successful
ventures that were introduced as separate divisions under the Brand of Shahi Ent (Pvt) Ltd.

Their four factories are in Karachi and one is in Lahore.

PRODUCT RANGE AND PROCESSING:


It has four distinct and line of products which includes:

1. Mouth freshners.
2. Namkeen nimco products.
3. Snacks
4. Frozen foods.

In mouth freshners leadings products are shahi deluxe, shahi meva, aas pas, shahi elaichi which
is recognized all over the world including Pakistani and Indian communities.

Shahi is the famous and leading brand of producing namkeen nimco like ballay bally and shahi
nimco.

It is the first company of Pakistan who introduces small packs of nimcos with a brand name of
ballay ballay with 8 and 15gm packets for one time eating. Ballay ballay daal chana and daal
moth are the fastest selling items in the nimco market across the Pakistan.
It produces potato, corn and wheat based products under the brand names of fry-o, pop star and
wheat-o. All three products are famous among school going childrens as well as adults of all
ages.

1. PRODUCTION OF FRY-O:
It is a fried potato pallet snack made from high quality potato based
pellets. Fry-O is available in Sweet n’ Sour and Veggi Dip.

The potato based pallets are pocessed in kuiper and then fried. After
frying excess oil is removed and then spices and flavours are added
and then it is sent for packaging.

 PACKAGING:
It is packed in attractively designed plastic packets in which the product is filled and then it is
sealed by heat sealing machine and after that 6 to 12 packs are packed in plastic manually and
stacked in carton boxes and then stored at room temperature and then it is dispatched.

2. PROCESSING OF CHANA DAL:


Chana dal nimco is fried Chana Dal coated with a unique blend of
spices and flavours. Chana dal is collected and its sorting is done
manually and after that it is sorted on the sorting machine then washed
and dried and after that it is fried. Excess fat or oil is removed and then
spices and flavours are added and mixed properly and then it is sent for
packaging.

 PACKAGING:

It is packed in small colorful plastic packets in which chana dal is filled


and sealed automatically with heat sealing machine. After that it is collected and packed in
plastic manually and then in carton boxes and then it is stored in large storage rooms and then
dispatched.

3. PROCESSING OF SEV:
First all the ingredients are collected, then mixed, fried, collected in a
container and excess oil is removed and then into the extruder and
passed from die and then it is sent for packaging.

 PACKAGING:
It is packed in small colorful plastic packets of different sizes in which
sev is filled and sealed automatically with heat sealing machine. After
that it is collected and packed in plastic manually and then in carton boxes and then it is stored in
large storage rooms and then dispatched.

Shahi enterprises (pvt) limited are ISO 9001 2008 HACCP certified.
