    CLOSING THE DIVIDE

    Information communications technology can contribute to closing the divide by providing


    digital literacy to people who lack in that area. ICT is when technologies provide access to
    information through telecommunications. Once people start to understand the new technology
    that comes out that will help them get the resources they need out of the internet. Understand
    how to use computers, smart phones and even tablets can be very beneficial to a person's
    education, economic growth and economic equality.

    5G is an emerging technology that could potentially close the digital divide. Signals will
    be able to travel father due to the installation of small cell towers. Slow internets in rural and
    low-income areas is what has been affecting some business, with 5G all of that can be resolved
    due to the increased speeds.
