1. What is the relevance of ICT in your chosen course?

Marketing is a course that requires being innovative and being able to follow and acquire
information about the latest trends. The relevance of ICT in my chosen course, Marketing
Management, is that they go hand in hand. The similarity of marketing and ICT is that they
always grow into something big, new, and useful. ICT allows us students from this course to be
more adaptive in terms of technological literacy, because in this way we can be more efficient in
gathering the information related to our field of study and help us to be more knowledgeable
with the software we’ll be encountering with our future works.

Marketing requires us to conduct research studies in some specific topics and issues, ICT makes
our research journey more efficient because of the software and other applications we can use in
the betterment of the performance of our studies. We also study and deal with customers,
products, brandings, and many things related to business. With ICT, we can study these business-
related topics, and gain more details much easier, and effective.

2. Name at least 4 uses of ICT in our daily lives and explain.

 Education
It corresponds significantly to education as it changes the way education is delivered and creates
an easier learning experience through the use of laptops, smartphones, data terminals, virtual
electronic screens, and other technology in the process of delivering knowledge to students.

 Communication
Online communication is important especially with what is happening today. We can now reach
people wherever they are anytime as long as they have the means of online communication.

 E-commerce
Technology made purchasing and selling products and services even more convenient
and secure. Users can now easily purchase something online without leaving the comfort
of their homes, and they don’t need to be concerned with providing credit card details to
a vendor.

 Household

Through use of ICT in household electronics is increasingly evolving. ICT tools is being used to
offer opportunities to home treatment. When it became able to monitor the house through a
system that regulates lighting, home protection, air conditioning, and other functions.

3. Give 5 positive impacts and 5 negative impacts of ICT in the society.

Positive

 It makes information retrieval more efficient, with a larger surface area, and at a lower
cost.
 Innovative communication and connectivity methods such as Mobile phone, satellite
cable networks, video and teleconferencing, and many more
 Larger accessibility to technology has resulted in the bridge-building process by allowing
people from various countries to interact with one another.
 Computer programmers, systems administrators, hardware and software developers, and
web designers are only a few of the many new career openings made possible by ICT.
 Our school system has faced a transformation as a result of ICT, resulting in improved
instructional formats and students that are better off as a result.

Negative

 Networks are vulnerable to exploitation in the form of hacking. Viruses propagate on a

network, and it is vulnerable to email spam and phishing.
 Misinformation or fake news can easily disperse. Some people on the internet might
unknowingly spread this information because of lack in fact checking resources, or may
have failed doing this process
 The majority of people who engage in video gaming spend less time with family and
friends and more time with an online character. With no social contact, they quickly turn
into insecure social misfits who struggle to connect with the rest of society.
 Many workers have lost their work because technology has been too entrenched in the
system. A task that may formerly be completed manually by a large number of people
can now be completed with the push of a button. Companies have also substituted the use
of laborers with the procurement of computers that can perform quickly and more
efficiently.
 The majority of ICT tools emit radiation. The daily use of these devices is most likely to
cause health issues in those who use them. Being stuck to a television nearly all day with
no precautions in place can often result in vision issues. Sitting in a poor stance in front
of a monitor often creates spinal cord pain.
