I.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Jupiter Drig is currently maintaining a branch each in five town in the probince of
Tarlac. The towns are Tarlac City, Camiling, Monvada, Panlaui, and Conveption. The
sole owner of Jupiter Drug is Mr. Servero Lagayan nd he is worried about how to meet
the growing competition. The problem on this study is that there’s a decreasing sales
happening on the business. Another problem is too much superiority or pride showed
by Mr. Lagayan towards his members.

There are recommended solutions to overcome those problem such as Improving the
managerial skills that may help to do great planning, decision-making and problem
solving. The other is the improving communication skills and positive attitude that may
help to build a good relationship between manager and employees.

II. STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM


1. In what way do you possibly think the business can increase their sales for the
second time?
2. What is you comment regarding Mr. Lagayan’s remark?
3. What do you suggest?

III. CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM


To increase the sales, the business needs to exert more efforts. Maintaining the quality of
medicines is important as it will be delivered to consumers. It maybe caused of outdated sale
strategies. Remember the times when sales reps would knock on your door only to convince you
to buy what they had to sell? This traditional sales strategy worked in the past, but is obsolete now.
Another reason for a decrease in sales can be your competitors using better marketing techniques
or offering better products at lower prices.

Possessing great communication skills is crucial for a manager. It can determine


how well information is shared throughout a team, ensuring that the group acts as a
unified workforce. How well a manager communicates with the rest of his team also
determines how well outlined procedures can be followed, how well the tasks and
activities can be completed, and thus, how successful an organization will be. His
negative remarks maybe caused of his too much superiority. Believing that no one can do the job
better than his. Judging someone’s capabilities caused them to lose their confidence that creates
conflict in the tasks given. This will lead to the business to slow productivity.
IV. DECISION CRITERIA AND ALTERNATIVE SOLUTIONS

Mr. Lagayan’s Jupiter drug is decreasing it salaes as time goes by. To avoid business im decreasing
sales the manager should improve management skills. Management skills can be defined as certain
attributes or abilities that an executive should possess in order to fulfill specific tasks in an
organization. They include the capacity to perform executive duties in an organization while
avoiding crisis situations and promptly solving problems when they occur. Management skills can
be developed through learning and practical experience as a manager. The skills help the manager
to relate with their fellow co-workers and know how to deal well with their subordinates, which
allows for the easy flow of activities in the organization.

Types of Management Skills


According to American social and organizational psychologist Robert Katz, the three basic types
of management skills include:

1. Technical Skills
Technical skills involve skills that give the managers the ability and the knowledge to use a variety
of techniques to achieve their objectives. These skills not only involve operating machines and
software, production tools, and pieces of equipment but also the skills needed to boost sales, design
different types of products and services, and market the services and the products.

2. Conceptual Skills
These involve the skills managers present in terms of the knowledge and ability for abstract
thinking and formulating ideas. The manager is able to see an entire concept, analyze and diagnose
a problem, and find creative solutions. This helps the manager to effectively predict hurdles their
department or the business as a whole may face.

3. Human or Interpersonal Skills


The human or the interpersonal skills are the skills that present the managers’ ability to interact,
work or relate effectively with people. These skills enable the managers to make use of human
potential in the company and motivate the employees for better results.

 Improve Communication Skills and Positive Attitude


Communication involves the flow of information within the organization, whether formal
or informal, verbal or written, vertical or horizontal, and it facilitates smooth functioning
of the organization. Clearly established communication channels in an organization allow
the manager to collaborate with the team, prevent conflicts, and resolve issues as they arise.
A manager with good communication skills can relate well with the employees and thus,
able to achieve the company’s set goals and objectives easily.

There are several factors that may bring about a feel of superiority complex by some
managers & leaders: the major factors may include; 1. Personality- some managers where
born naturally that way, 2. Character- some managers are born with such character, some
learn it along their life path while others are influenced into such character, 3. Attitude-
unpleasant attitude developed by some managers towards their subordinates, 4.
Background- the family background & society where some of these managers come from
also contributes much to this issue. 5. Working environment- this also plays a role in
contributing to such issues, where the environment prompts managers to behave that way.

V. RECOMMMDED ACTIONS, IMPLIMENTATION AND JUSTIFICATION

Your attitude determines your productivity. More than almost any other factor, your
perspective on the current situation affects your ability to get work done. If you need to be
more productive, make sure you bring your positive attitude. Attitude Determines Your
Productivity When you are faced with adversity, you can let your mood change for the
worse or you can choose to look on the positive side of the situation. The more positive
your attitude, the more you can get done. A positive attitude makes others want to help
you. No one wants to get near the person who is yelling and losing it at the first sign of
trouble. Yet, everyone wants to come to the aid of the person who is smiling and keeping
their head high despite bad things happening.

Mr. Lagayan should apply positive managerial attitude to Avoid Wasting Time in
Complaining because complaining doesn’t get anything done. Instead, put your energy
into the positive action of doing something to improve the situation. Anger clouds your
judgement. When you let yourself get upset, you impact your ability to make good
decisions. Let your positive attitude clear your mind so that you can take appropriate action
instead of reacting to emotion. If Mr. Lagayan will apply this positive attitude they will
solves problems instead of making problems. The good communication with employess
will be improved, communication is very important in order to create good relationship of
manager among employees and enable to respect different suggestion of every employees.
If they already build a good relationship everyone will be motivated to take action on how
to overcome their problems in business.

Communication is a concept closely related to Soft skills and emotional intelligence. After

all, effective communication is identified in some studies as the most important managerial

skill (Gentry et al. 2008). Many competency models include aspects of communication.
