YARA INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL

(FIRST TERM 2019-2020)

Each year new students enter kindergarten with diverse backgrounds eager to absorb
everything kindergarten has to offer. We look forward to a wonderful year ahead and
make your child‟s experience at school a memorable one. Therefore, this edition of
newsletter is intended to keep our parents updated about the activities undertaken by
us over the last few months and apprise them about forth coming events.

Our academic year commenced on 7thApril 2019. We were all set with the aim to provide
an apt environment, where children can be nurtured with love and care.

WHAT’S INSIDE
The first day of kindergarten is the start of a lifelong
adventure for learning and it also becomes the official end of
•ICE BREAKER
babyhood for the child and a new journey for the teacher.
The first day is very strenuous for the teachers, as they are •SPECIAL EVENTS AND
introduced to a roomful of active and excited little minds, ASSEMBLIES

who too are in a very new and invigorating environment. It  RED DAY
is arduous for a child to come out of their comfort zone and  FIRE DRILL
mingle with someone, whom they have seen for the very first  MOTHERS’ DAY
time. But our proficient teachers made it possible by setting  COMPETITIONS
the kids and thereby carrying out the first day activity of  SUMMER DAY OUT

preparing an apple tree. Therefore, this day is also referred

 RED DAY
Red is the most dynamic and passionate color which symbolizes love, strength, leadership,
courage, willpower and determination. The kindergarten tiny tots of YIS celebrated „Red
Day‟ on 1st of May 2019 which introduced children into the mesmerizing realm of colors.
A special assembly was conducted where the Kindergarteners gave a dazzling
performance on rhymes “Apple Tree…..”, “Watermelon and a spectacular skit”. Children
were dressed up as red fruits & objects and spoke about the colour red‟. The shades of red
made our little stars feel bright, lively and cheerful. Our children looked stunning in their
red attires with red heart crowns which were handcrafted by our tiny tots. Host of
activities like red corners, cutting and relishing luscious watermelon adopted the flavors
of red color to their minds.

Safety and security of our students are of

prime importance at Y.I.S. To familiarize
FIRE DRILL
students with how to cope up with adversities,
a Mock Fire Drill was conducted in the school
on 5th May 2019. Children were educated to
map their fire exit paths and in the event of a
fire alarm to evacuate the premises safely.

 MOTHER’S DAY
Mother is the most special
woman in every child‟s
heart. As a tribute to
mothers‟ on 12th May, 2019
students at Y.I.S.
handcrafted a beautiful
card as a token of love and
took it for their mothers.

“God could not be everywhere, and therefore he made mothers”.

COMPETITIONS
Competitions are scheduled to
encourage creativity and enhance
the child‟s fine motor skills. Clay
Modelling competition was
conducted for students of UKG on
19th May 2019 and LKG students on
11th June 2019, wherein, our tiny
tots exhibited their talent of
creating wonders with clay. On 13th
June 2019, our nursery students
demonstrated their Colouring skills
through the colouring competition;
the little budding artists came up
with some exuberant artwork.
Overall these were fun events and
served as a great opportunity for
the budding artists in an
unexplored domain.

SUMMER DAY OUT
A splish splash “Summer Day Out”
was held on 17th June 2019 for
kindergarten students where they
came to school dressed in vibrant
summer attires. The glorious day
started with fun and frolic activities
such as blowing and floating of
colourful bubbles, building marvelous
sand castles and an exciting game
with squirt guns which kept them
entertained.

The highlight of the day was “the

convivial pool activity” where our
tiny tots had ultimate fun by
splashing water and diving into the
fresh and cool pool. Icing on the cake
was “the spectacular photo booth”
arranged by the school to capture the
everlasting joyful memories of our
little ones.

Kids enjoyed live mouth- watering

pizza making sessions which tingled
their taste buds.

It was an amazing and memorable

day for the students which left lasting
smiles on their faces.

 OPENING DOORS TO CAIE/IGCSE

It‟s a matter of great pride and pleasure for us to announce that YIS is
offering new avenues for international higher studies for our existing and
new students with CAIE (Cambridge Assessment International Education)
syllabus or IGCSE effective 15thSeptember 2019.

YIS will be providing the students with experienced staff, professional

environment, frequent evaluation, personalized attention and state of the
art facility with well-equipped smart class.

Team YIS is all set with the potential to imbibe and adopt the measures for
successful goal achievement!

PTM
A parent-teacher conference enables us to communicate to
parents regarding the areas their children are excelling in
and to provide feedback on the scope for improvement.
Hence, parent-teacher meeting was organized in the
school campus on 13th April 2019.

CONCLUSION
As we wind up this first term we are all excited to witness the forthcoming
attractions of second term.


