We, Grade 10 batch 2022-23, have designed this newsletter, the
very first edition of this academic year. As we adapt ourselves
with the old- normal mode of schooling, we are all braced up for a
promising yet memorable year of learning together with our
friends and teachers.

IDS AWARD
With great pride, we share that Canary The School
has been awarded the International Dimension in
Schools (IDS) award. This award is given by the
British Council in recognition of a school’s effort to
include international work as part of their
curriculum and embed it within the school’s
culture.
This award is a testament to all the teaching-
learning experiences created in the school by
dedicated and efficient teachers and ably
supported by the Canarians!!!

A fresh start!

“I’ve always loved the first day of school better

than the last day of school. Firsts are best because
they are beginnings.” – Jenny Han

The first day of school is one day we all look

forward to and I am sure that it must have been
very exciting to come to school to our old normal
mode of schooling. On our first day of school, the
soft beams of sunlight, blissful breeze, and soulful
chirping of the birds, set the perfect ambiance at
Canary’s Green Meadows and welcomed us. After
the assembly we got to meet our teachers and
new classmates and on this note we kickstarted
our first day with immense joy.

As for the tiny-tots of our school, it was their first

time coming to the school and experiencing a
whole new world away from the shelter of their
parents and embracing the fun of learning with
friends and teachers. Our enthusiastic team of
teachers made sure that each of students gets
to live their best first day at the school imbibed
with the comfort of trust and a zeal to enliven up
for a promising academic year ahead.

As we are trying to get back to our routine lives of visiting our second home of learning,
many of us are yet to experience this transition, and hence our school has made sure to
provide a hybrid mode of schooling to reach out to those of us who are yet to join us
physically at the campus. But it is also very good to see most of the students and teachers
turning up and adapting to the old normal.

MORNING
ASSESMBLIES
"Every day must be the day to learn
something new."
To mark an auspicious start of the
day, we have enlightening morning
assemblies to energize each one of
us with the gleam of a new day.
These assemblies have an engaging
impact on us, as we get to enjoy and
participate in them with our friends
and teachers. Through an
opportunity to be able to hold an
assembly for our entire school
community, we even get to enhance
our skills of communication and HALF-DAY
confidence.
SCHOOLS
Due to latest GO passed by the
Government of Telangana our school
started the policy of half days. This
was onboard from 4th April, 2022. The
timings for the same was from 8:30am
to 12:00 noon. That means, we had
four sessions per day.

VACCINATION
DRIVE
It is Summer of 2022, we have been through a
pandemic for about 2 years now. During
these 2 years the whole world has
experienced a whole new set of adversities
which no one could predict. Following the
COVID protocols cautiously like wearing a
mask everytime we step out of our homes,
washing our hands for 20 seconds, this
pandemic was a huge problem for the world
and the only way out was vaccination.
Stepping in to curb the adversity, our school
had a vaccination drive in the month of
March for the students of age of 12-15 years.

POSTER MAKING
IB PROFILES
In the month of April , our school organized a
Poster making Activity on IB Profiles.. The
knowledge of IB Profiles helps the students go
beyond academic outcomes and prepares
them to become 21st century citizens.

International Earth Day

Celebrations: Art Competition
International Earth day is celebrated on
22 April every year, proposed as a day
to honour the earth and embrace the
concept of peace. It is an annual event
celebrated to support environmental
protection.

To incorporate this day into

our lives, an art competition
was held in our school for all
the grades on 8th of April on
the theme of Earth Day.

The topics given to each grade were:

Grade 9, 10: A beautiful world starts with you
Grade 6, 7, 8: Global Cleanup
Grade 4, 5: The Earth has a soul
Grade 2, 3: Save Aquatic Animals
Grade EY, 1: Plant a Tree

All the Canarians enthusiastically

participated in the competition and it was a
grand success.
