To whom it may concern,

With regards to wind speeds & reductions in rated capacity for Hitachi Sumitomo ,
we confirm the following with regards to the following model cranes
SCX3500,SCX2800-2,SCX2500LF,SCX2500, SCX2000A-2,SCX2000, SCX900-2
SC2000-3, SC1500-2, LS248, SCX1500-2, SC1000-2S, SC1000-2,

1. In the case of 11- 15m/sec. speed of the wind from the boom
back (or side), please deduct the following load from each
crane lifting chart.
<30m boom or shorter : -3 tons
30-51m boom or shorter : -5 tons
51-73m boom or shorter : -8 tons

2. Where capacity is less than the suggested reduction reduce SWL by 50%

3. Where the wind speed exceeds 15m/sec please shut down crane & follow instructions in
the operators manuals for the relevant procedures.

4. In the case of 15m/sec. speed of the wind from the boom front and with 73m boom or
longer, there is a danger of the boom jumping backward.
Wind - Rear or side. Use of up to 15m/s no problem with reductions as listed.

5.Wind from front of boom.

Concern is for very long booms at minimum radius when load is taken off the hook. As
the booms get very light on weight so backwards stability is the concern.
Operation should be restricted where possible into head winds to the 10m/s in the book.
(this is meant to mean picking up & unloading into headwind not slewing through.)

Condition of Calculation:
1)With the skywalk(option)
2)The wind speed is defined as the instantaneous wind
velocity at 10m height above the ground.
3) An incident may happen due to unexpected several factors
other than or including the wind speed, therefore we recommend to operate the crane
under the restriction mentioned in our operator's manual.
4) Control of loads is paramount to operations should any difficulty be found
in load control operations must be shut down immediately
5) All other load chart conditions must be strictly adhered to.
