Create Business Partner

Business partner is capable of manage data for customers and vendors.

BP is now the single point of entry to create, edit and display master data.
The user interface for SAP S/4HANA, on premise edition 1511 is transaction BP

A SAP Business Partner is an organization, person or a group of persons or organizations in


which your company has a business interest
 You can create and manage your business partners centrally for different business
transactions
 BP roles can be changed during the life cycle of business
Ex: A customer created as BP may become also a vendor or vice versa, so keeping the general
data same, other relevant roles can be extended.
 Data redundancy is prevented
BP master data is categorized as
 General data -> Name, address, bank information etc
 Role specific data -> like customer, employee, vendor etc
When BP is created with say customer role, SAP fields related to customers are linked and all the
rules relating to those fields like mandatory, optional, suppressed etc come into picture
 BP is the only way to create customer and vendors
The Business Partner Approach is not mandatory for the SAP Simple Finance 1503
Business partner has been mandatory with S4 Hana Enterprise Management version i.e. 1511
and 1610 and all old transaction like FK01/02/03 and FD01/02/03 are no more available.
Business Partner Approach
In SAP S/4HANA, Business Partner is the leading object and single point of entry to maintain
Business Partner, Customer, and Supplier (formerly known as Vendor) master data.
This is to ensure the ease of master data maintenance and to achieve harmonization between
them. Compared to classical ERP transactions, maintenance of Customer and Supplier master
data via Business Partner has many advantages:
 A legal entity is represented with one Business Partner.
 Business Partner allows maintenance of multiple addresses with corresponding address
usages.
 In classical transactions, one customer can only be associated to one account group. But
in Business Partner, multiple roles can be associated to the same Business Partner.
 Maximal data sharing and reuse of data which lead to an easier data consolidation.
 General Data available for all different Business Partner roles, specific data is stored for
each role.
 Maintenance of multiple relationships to the same Business Partner.
 Maintenance of Time Dependency at different sub-entities roles, address, relationship,
bank data etc.
Go to start < click on SAP Logon
Double click on S41709
Enter username and password and click enter
To login to Fiori click on URL-Fiori URL
Enter user and password

Enter maintain business partner app in the search bar


Click main business partner app

Click on organization
Select grouping as internal numbering BP

Enter title and name


Enter postal code, city and country
Enter language and click save

Business partner is created


Whatever the business partner is created in Fiori, it will automatically create in SAP Logon and
HANA Studio
Go to START < Click on SAP HANA Studio
Click on OK

Expand HDB (BEST) < Expand catalog


Expand SAPABAP1 < Expand tables < Right click on tables and click on filters

Enter table name and click OK


Right click on table and click on open data preview

Here we can see the business partner
