Pharmacist: Hello, My name is Huong. I’m the pharmacist. How are you
today?

Patient: I’m Ok. I’m a little bit tired.

Pharmacist: Can you tell me why you are visiting us today?

Patient: I recently had a heart attack about month ago. I need to get my
prescription refilled. I can’t remember the name of the drug, but I think
it begins with a ”c”.

Parmacist : Ok. Was this your first heart attack?

Patient: Yes

Pharmacist: Can you tell me your name and I can get from your chart.

Patient: Công Bình Nhà Đât.

Pharmacist: here it is. Give me a minute to take a look at it. Oh,You


were prescribe Captopril. Do you have the bottle with you.

Patient: yes it is in my purse. Here is it.

Pharmacist: Thank you. I need to update your chart before I give you
refill. Do you have a few minutes.

Patient: Sure

Pharmacist: I see from you chart that you have been on other
medications. Are you still taking Lipitor for your cholesterol?

Patient: No. I stopped after I had the heart attack.

Pharmacist: Did the doctor tell you to stop?


Patient: No

Pharmacist: Mr. Binh. You need to take the medical advice of your
doctor.

Patient: Medicine is so expensive even with insurance.

Pharmacist: I understand, speak to your doctor about reduced- cost


medications. I’ll give you the list of reduced-cost cholesterol medicines
for your doctor to review.

Patient: Ok. Thank you for that.

Pharmacist: I see that you take over- the-counter multivitamins with


ion and minerals. Are you still taking them?

Patient: Yes.

Pharmacist: Now do you feel the captopril is working for you?

Patient: I think so

Pharmacist: Have you had any side effects?

Patient: When I first took, I felt a little dizzy and lightheaded. But then it
went away.

Pharmacist: Good. Have you experienced a fast heartbeat?

Patient:No

Pharmacist: How about a cough?

Patient: No

Pharmacist: Change in your urine.


Patient: No

Pharmacist: Any other side effects that you can think of?

Patient: No. I think medicine is taking me feel better. That’s why I’m
here to refill.

Pharmacist: That’s a good idea. Give me a few minutes why I get you
