2. Am a nurse by profession and I deal with different
kinds of people every day
3. I chose this profession because of its wide global
opportunities it has. Apart from that my passion is
to migrate to Australia.
4. Yes I do. It is none other than my grandmother who
dedicated her life to this profession
5. I start my day at 7am with a small prayer with a
bedside rounds, followed my administering
medications to patients, attending doctors rounds,
carrying out orders, health education and finally day
ends with a handover to the next shift nurse.

morning shift working in pediatric ward. Once we

Effective communication is very important in the medical interview. As a health professional, it


is necessary to use language to achieve a particular purpose within a particular context. These
purposes can be categorized further into language functions and language learners can improve
their communicative ability by being familiar with and using the language patterns associated
with the various functions.

This is obviously a very important part of the medical interview. It requires you to listen
carefully to the patient then respond appropriately.
