HSB 4U1: CULMINATING PERFORMANCE TASK SOCIAL SCIENCE INDEPENDENT RESEARCH STUDY

PHASE 1: TOPIC PROPOSAL

Explore a topic related to the analysis of social challenges, trends, and

change. When choosing a focus, the key is finding a topic or question that is
both interesting and appropriate.

Find a study, an experiment, or research that explores your area of interest

within your social challenge/trend. Your efforts will be more meaningful if
your research is aligned with your interests.

Answer the following prompts in one paragraph to complete a working topic proposal. At this stage,
you are not committing to your research, rather preparing for a dialogue regarding your exploratory
ideas. Your proposal will be followed by teacher feedback to help direct you in your next phase.
