INTRODUCTION

Smell somehow defines how responsible a person is, and also good smell sometimes

refer to cleanliness. Dirty clothes, after being washed,would smell good again. But a cloth being

stocked would definitely absorb the same scent as its storage. A wood like smell that is unpleasant

and is a sure turn off to one’s sense of smell. Fragrance is important to everyone when it comes to

socializing because a person with good smell somehow attract more friends. Sampaguita

(Jaminum sambac) is one of the flowers with the most popular fragrance, thus the researcher tried

to produce a cloth freshener out of Sampaguita (Jasminum sambac).

In the thi study, it is decided that Sampaguita (Jasminum sambac) will be the main

ingredient for the cloth freshener.

Sampaguita (Jasminum sambac) is known as one of the flowers that has the most

outstanding fragrance and that’s why it can be use in making cloth freshener. Sampaguita

(Jasminum sambac) is very affordable and can be seen anywhere especially on churches. It is a

good course for Jasmine flower oil in terms of the quality of the fragrance and is also use in

Philippine industry as an ingredient to produce perfumes.

In addition to that, the researchers chose this flower because it has a lot of health benefits

most particularly in human body. It has antidepressant, antibacterial, aphrodisia, analgesic,

anesthetic, antipasmodic, selative, expectocrants, carminative cicatrisan, pasturent, lacti fuge and

has antifumor properties that lead many countries to use this for medicine purposes. So it only

justifies that Sampaguita (Jasminum sambac) is not only use in religious purposes, but is also

widely use in industry and also in medicines because of its properties.

The benefits of Sampaguita (Jasminum sambac) as a cloth freshener can be much more

than what it seem. One of the most powerful ability of Sampaguita is to eliminate the undesirable

odor and to enhance the freshness of a newly washed cloth. Third, it comes in a pleasant smell

that can attract good vibes and can make a person calm at the moment he/she inhaled the majestic

smell of Sampaguita. Fourth, a good smell of a cloth makes you even more confident which
makes you comfortable at anything you’ll do without thinking about your smell. Lastly, a stench

on clothes can be remove by using Sampaguita.

STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

This study aims to know the effectivity of using Sampaguita (Jasminum Sambac)

in making cloth freshener.

Furthermore, the study also aims to answer the following questions:

1. Can the effectivity of Sampaguita (Jasminum sambac) cloth freshener be expanded to

plastic furniture?;

2. how long is the effectivity of the freshener to the clothes?; and

3. how many clothes does a 10 grams of cloth freshener could cater?

SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY

The liquid Sampaguita cloth freshener is limited in reducing bad odor and release

a fresh scent that can be used in linens like clothes, pillow cases, curtains and such, but

excludes plastics, woods, and metals.

OBJECTIVE OF THE STUDY

This study aims to know the effectivity of using Sampaguita (Jasminum Sambac)

in making cloth freshener.

Furthermore, the study also aims to answer the following statements:

1. Identify the effectivity of Sampaguita cloth freshener be expanded to plastic furniture;

2. distinguish how long is the effectivity of the freshener to the clothes; and

3. identify how many clothes does a 10 grams of cloth freshener could cater.

SCOPE AND DELIMITATION OF THE STUDY

Producing a cloth freshener out of (Jasminum Sambac) Sampaguita will benefit

those people that struggles in preserving the fragrance of their clothes.This product has a

bodacious scent that can relax a person’s scene of smell. The freshener is an eco -friendly

product and this will surely decrease the number of toxic chemicals on the atmosphere.

Unlike other products, it can lessen the possibility of triggering pulmonary diseases like

bronchitis,emphysema,asthma,etc.
