Firearms identification and examinations have important roles which can be the solution
in such cases like shooting incident, murder, and homicide which involves firearms as the main
weapon. It identify what type of gun and bullet had been used in committing such crime;
examines it for analytical solution if the bullet had been used in the same gun.

A case in New Zealand where in there was a report that gives detailed account of
gun violence which distinguish firearm related cases. An unprecedented Stuff investigation
has identified every homicide in New Zealand in the past 15 years, revealing the vast majority of
those who kill with guns are unlicensed and their weapon of choice is often a .22 calibre rifle or
shotgun. In an interview for the project, Police Minister Stuart Nash revealed he plans to
push his fellow Cabinet Ministers for a firearms register.

"I didn't realise there were that many people who had died through the use of firearms,"
Nash said (Ensor et al., 2019). This case shows how important firearms identifications
and Examinations are, this can be the source of an information which can help those
who’re stuck with their investigations.
