LESSON PLAN IN MEDIA AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (MIL)

Grade/Year Level: 11 Quarter: II Duration: 60 minutes

Content Standard: The learner demonstrates understanding of different resources of


media and information, their design principle and elements, and selection criteria.

Performance Standard: The learner produces a living museum or electronic portfolio


or any other creative forms of multimedia showcasing their / his/her understanding,
insights, and perceptions of the different resources of media and information.

Learning Competency:
 Cite studies to support theories on the positive and negative effects of
media and information on the individual and society. MIL11/12PM-IVa-I
 Describe the different dimensions of people media. MIL11/12PM-IVa-I
 Categorize different examples of people and state reasons for such
categorizations. MIL11/12PM-IVa-2

I. OBJECTIVES:
At the end of the lesson, the learners must be able to:
 Explain the definition of people media.
 Differentiate people as media and people in media.
 Recognize the media affects the individual and the society.
 Identify and explain the different roles of people in media and information.

1. Activity (15 minutes)
Direction: Divide the class into groups. The teacher will then let the
students watch a video or read an article about Media effects.
Group 1– Blog about “Citizen Journalism in the Philippines:
public pressure for public accountability”
Group 2 – TV News Failon Ngayon - “The spread of fake news”
Group 3 – Newspaper Article Inquirer - Ways social media
apps influence our daily lives

mates will answer the guide questions after watching the video or
reading the news article.
2. Analysis (10 minutes)
Direction: Students will be called at random and will give out their
comments using the following questions:
 What have you learned from the video or news article?
 What is the source of information?
 How important are people as sources of information?
 How important Media is to our daily lives?
 What are the positive and negative effects of media on an
individual or society?

3. Abstraction (15 minutes)


The teacher will collaboratively discuss with the learners the
following concepts:

 People Media - refers to persons that are involved in the use,


analysis, evaluation and production of media and information

 People as Media - They act as the media itself. They are the people
who give and/or share information to other people for them to
have new knowledge.
 People in Media - These are people behind any forms of media.

pad. Group 1 will answer questions 1 and 2, Group 2 question 3 and 4
and Group 3 questions 5 and 6.
