EFFECT OF THERAPEUTIC NURSE COMMUNICATION ON THE LEVEL

OF ANXIETY PRE-OPERATIVE PATIENTS IN THE ROOM TULIP
REGIONAL DISTRICT GENERAL HOSPITAL SUMEDANG YEAR 2019

ABSTRACT

Pasien who will face surgery often experience anxiety as a result of fear.
Pre-operative treatment is an initial stage of operation. The overall success of the
surgery depends on this phase. Basically, anxiety is a natural thing ever
experienced by any human being. Nurses have a very important role in every
surgery either before, during or after surgery. Therapeutic communication
focusing on clients in meeting the needs of clients, and has a specific purpose and
time limit set together. Based on data from the Hospital Management Information
System (SIMRS) during the period the period from January to March 2019 found
the number of patients for surgery in the Tulip Room 148 patients.
This research method is a method of pre-experiment, one group pretest
posttest design.dengan 20 respondents pretest and posttest intervention was not
given given intervention. The data analysis descriptive and statistical parametric
test T-twos (Paired T-Test / Dependent T-Test), the results of pretest most are
anxious being, posttest mostly anxious, test results of T can be p-value 0.000>
0.05 so that it can means there is influence between therapeutic communication on
patient preoperative anxiety level in Sumedang District Hospital in 2019.
The author recommends For theoretical order made in information or
basic data for further research and as a motivation to realize the importance of
therapeutic communication in reducing anxiety in patients with pre-operative and
those practices to be used as input or aids in taking a policy to improve the quality
of nursing care, especially concerning preoperative patient anxiety.
