1. Describe the motivations Aaron Ralston had for participating in his adventures in
the outdoor environment. Use examples from the movie to explain your answers.

2. At the start of the movie Aaron is preparing for the trip. Describe some of the
risks he may encounter and steps that he takes to minimise those risks.

3. Risk is involved in any activity where the outcome is uncertain and there is a
potential loss or gain. Describe three activities that Aaron Ralston took part in during the
movie, explain the risks and analyse the potential losses and gains from these activities.

4. What motivated Aaron to keep going?

5. Compare/Contrast Aaron’s situation to that of Tim Holding? Do you agree or

disagree with people doing solo trips? Present both sides of the argument and then make
your own conclusions.
