 The main purpose of doing this project is to know the how textile
industry (Raymond) to achieve sale target. There may be a some
problem are raises by implementation of new policy (external
environment) but that are doing their work frequently.
 The main reason for successful running of this industry is the
support of state government.

PREFACE

We made this project on textile industry (Raymond LTD.) in order to


know about that how manufacturing process and management is done.
This project is mainly centralized on how various departments are
working for management.

For management student the career of the student depends upon many
things and one of them is practical knowledge. Practical knowledge
helps to implement the theoretical aspects into the practical world.

This project contains overall management structure of the companies


doing the textile product. This project is basically for knowing how
textile manufacturing concern are run their business and how they
contributing to the Indian economy.

OBJECTIVE
 To study the current position and situation of the Textile
industry.
 To find out the strengths and weaknesses.
 Find out the possible way of solution to weaknesses.
 To identify the key opportunities and threats in the textile
business.
 To find out the problem faced by the various departments
manager and labour.
 To study the marketing mix of the textile business.
INTRODUCTION

The textile industry in India traditionally after agriculture is the only


industry that has generated huge employment for both skilled and
unskilled labour in textiles. The textile industry continues to be the
second largest employment generating sector in India.

India’s textile sector is one of the oldest industries in Indian economy.


Indian textile industry occupies a very important place in the economic
life of India. the India textile industry is one of the largest in the world
with a massive raw material and textiles manufacturing base.

The textile industry is primarily concerned with the design and


production of yarn ,cloth and their distribution. Cotton is the world’s
Most important natural fibre. The textile industry is also labour
intensive and is one of the largest employers.

DEPARTMENT WORKINGS IN THE COMANIES

On the basis of my observation these department are generally in the


companies –
1. Accounts Department
2. Finance Department
3. Marketing Department
4. Sales Department
5. Production Departments
6. Human Resources Departments
Generally marketing and sale departments are working together but
if there is requirement then they establish separate department.

SWOT Analysis

 SWOT analysis is a tool for auditing an industry and its


environment.
 It is the first stage of planning and help marketer to focus on key
issue. SWOT stand for strengths, weaknesses, opportunities,
threats.
 Strengths and Weaknesses are internal factor. Opportunities and
Threats are external factor.
 It involves specifying the objective of the business venture or
project and identifying the internal and external factors that are
favourable and unfavourable to achieve the objective.

Strengths of The Raymond LTD.


 Strong for product innovations like dress shirts, shirting’s, jeans
wear, tailored clothing.
 Loyalty of customers and high product quality.
 Loyalty of employees due to decentralization.
 Being MNC Company it has ability to attract large customers as
compared to local companies.
 Owns 550 stores across 200 cities in India and overseas.

Weaknesses of The Raymond ltd.


 Switching cost is low for customers since Indian and international
firms offer large to customers.
 Weak supply chain management
 Global penetration is limited as compared to other international
brands.

 Special offer for corporate and business institutions.
 Global expansion would give more opportunity for brand to grow

Threats of The Raymond ltd:


 Increase in social and ecological awareness, company will be in
constant Pressure to follow labour laws and environmental laws.
 All major players in the industry are competing with each other
not only on low price but better quality.
 Increase in competition in domestic market due to large number of
formal wear brands coming up.

Outside influences that can impact a business. Various external factors
can impact the ability of a business or investment to achieve its strategic
goals and objectives. These external factor might include competition

environment.

Political environment of Raymond ltd.

 The government has announced the release of a subsidy of


INR 2,687 billion for the textile industry.

 Removal of trade related tariffs and non-tariff barriers.

 The government has extended 10% capital subsidy and 5%


interest subsidy on installation of machineries and for
processing machinery.
 A 41-member working group has also been announced to be
set up with a national fibre policy to ensure self- sufficiency
in fibre consumption and expert requirement in India.

Economics environment of Raymond ltd.

 Indian textile industry contributes about 14% to industrial


production 4% to the country gross domestic product (gdp)
and 16.63% to export earnings.

 Nearly 40% of the textile produced in the country is expoted


and the textile sector is the biggest employment generator
agter agriculture.

 The sector is expected to generate 12 million new jobs.

 Indian textile and apparel exports which is worth in us$ 41.4


billion in 2014-15 a growth of 5.4 percent.

 The market for textile is growing as a whole as India population
grows at about 1-2% annually.
 Along with that Raymond’s market segment of upper middle class
and the high class segment is also growing due to higher
disposable incomes.
 The textile industry is mainly a labour intensive industry as it
provides live hoods to the huge population mainly consists of
unskilled worker and thus plays a pivotal role in the development
of any economy.
