The I2R TEMPERATURE MONITOR is a GSM based SMS alert device that monitors
temperature of the surroundings and provides temperature updates to the user,
it also provides alert messages if a preset higher or lower values of temperature
are reached. The Higher and lower values for which updates must be received can
also be set by the user through simple SMS commands as per requirement.
The device package consists of a main module, a rubber duct antenna, a DB9
cable with temperature sensor device at the other end and a power supply
adaptor
The first step is to connect the GSM rubber duct antenna in the SMA connector
that peeps out from the device.
The next step is to insert the SIM card, to insert the SIM card press the yellow
switch in the device as visible in the figure below, the SIM tray slides out now, so
now the SIM card can be inserted in to this tray and pushed back in to the SIM
slot
Once this is complete the device can be powered on by inserting the power plug
jack from the adapter power supply.
Once all the above steps are completed the device is ready for use.
The admin maintains monopoly over the control of the device, i.e. the admin can
1. Set the user numbers who can receive SMS and temperature data
2. Set higher and lower cutoff values for which the admin himself and users
should receive SMS alerts.
3. Can enable or disable the device to react when higher or lower cutoff values
are breached.
4. Can switch on or off call and message alert features.
