Operation
Manual

Henan Chicheng Electric Co.,Ltd

ISO9001 & Quality Assured Company
Safety information:
⇒ Any operation inside the detector must be carried by
professional personnel. Before operating and repairing. Please
read carefully and understand clearly the operation manual.
⇒ It is suggested calibrate the sensor once every 180
days(6months).
⇒ It is suggested calibrate the sensor with the known
concentration standard gas if the detector for combustible gas
is exposed in any Catalytic pollutants or toxicant(such as
sulphide, Silicon vapor. halogen compounds, etc)
⇒If the read exceeds the range, the detected gas may reach
explosive or dangerous concentration.
⇒ If the read rises and reduces or the read does not keep
steady, it means there is a gas exceeding the detecting upper
limit and danger existing.
⇒Please don’t expose the detector to the environment which
has electric shock, strong magnetic field or serious continuous
mechanic shocking, Or it will influence the accuracy and
shorten the sensor life.
⇒ The maintenance and repair item will be shown on this
manual.
⇒If you have suggestion or comments about our products and
service, you can contact any time, and your comments is

1. Presentation-
The module gas detector( detector as below), it is a fixed
detector continuously monitoring the combustible gas,
toxic gas as well as oxygen. The detector works by
natural diffusion, adopts the imported electro-chemical
sensor for toxic gas and oxygen, catalytic sensor for
combustible gas, IR sensor and PID sensor, too. It has
good reproducibility and sensitivity, disturbing-proof
against temperature and humidity, long life-span and easy
operation.
The detector is with LED display screen showing the real
gas leakage concentration and once the gas leakage
concentration exceeds the preset alarm point (threshold) it will
start the acoustic-optical alarm on the central unit and drive the
external equipment like exhaust fans.
The signal output is standard 4-20mA or RS485. It is widely
used in refineries, petrol, chemistry, metallurgy, artifice, gas
transportation, biological medicine and water procession etc.

6. Installation & Wire Connection
6.1 Installation position
6.1.1The position should be within 1m around the possible gas
leakage area, such as valve, pipe connection point, gas outlet
place. Please try to install it nearer to the above places, but
avoid influencing the working of other equipments. Please
avoid the environment of high temperature and humidity. Also
please keep it from water swashing, oil and mechanical damage.
Please take the maintenance and calibration of the detector into
consideration.
6.1.2 For the gas, e.g CH4 etc which is lighter than the air, the
position is 2m~3.5m higher than the gas source. For the gas,
which is heavier than the air, the position is 0.36~0.6m higher
than the ground.
Note: Gas density more than 0.97kg/CBM, then it is heavier.
Gas density less than 0.97kg/CBM, then it is lighter.
6.1.3 Fix the detector with sensor head downwards. Screw
thread nut, bulge bolts and fix it tightly, and connect with cover
tightly to ensure the anti-explosion requirement.
6.1.4. For large scale detection, we suggest install 1pcs every
30-40 square meters, so as to get the best detection result.
6.2 Wire connection
Notes:1) Wire connection should be carried when power off.
2)The diameter of the wire between the controller and
detector should be no less than 1.5 square millimeter and the
distance should be no more than 1000m, RVVP wire is
required.
6.2.1 Screw off the cover in counter-clockwise. Then use a
screw to screw off the bolts and take off the display PCB.
6.2.2 Screw off the connector and take out the explosion-proof
pad, Then put 3-line wire to the internal of the enclosure
through the connector, compaction circle, air-proof closing
plug and the wire connection hole. For anti-explosion
requirement, please do not take out the explosion-proof closing
plug from the unused wire connection holes and do not throw
away any part inside the enclosure or the PCB.
Connect the wires to the terminals as the following picture
shows.
6.2.3 After the correct wire connection, take out the useless
wire from the enclosure. Then tighten the screw nut, tighten
rubber air-proof circle and wire. Anti-explosion soft tube can
also be connected with the device directly (Please check if the
screw of the soft tube and detector is the same).
6.2.4 After checking all the connection well, install the display
PCB and the front cover. Make sure O-type circle is put on and
connected with cover tightly.

7.Sensor maintenance and replacement

The detector adopts sensor module design, the life of

catalytic sensor is 3~5 years and electrochemical sensor
for oxygen is 1~2 years, other electrochemical sensor is
2~3 years. When the sensor life is overdue, the detection
result may be not accurate. Please contact the seller for
replacing the sensor. It is suggested to calibrate the
sensor once every 6 months to keep the accuracy.

9. The spare parts
There are a gas detector,1pc calibration cover, 1 instruction
manual, 1 certificate of quality and 1 maintenance card.

10. Attentions
1. Avoid being fallen from high places and vibrated mightily.
2. Keep the detector away from the place where is rapid air
flow. Otherwise it will influence the testing result.
3. Before using this product, please read the following
instruction carefully and adhere to related requirement strictly.
4. It is forbidden to use the detector in the places where is
corrosive gas and other severe conditions with exorbitant or
over-low temperate, high humidity, electromagnetism
environment and strong sunshine.
Please clean the detector with soft cloth in case there is dirt on
the appearance for long usage. Don’t clean with corrosive
solvent or hard materials, which may hurt and break the
appearance of the detector.
Please re-calibrate the sensor once every 6 months. It’s
suggested to test or inspect the detector frequently, so as to
avoid any dust or unexpected painting on the sensor.
Any application and failure not mentioned in this instruction,
please contact us for solving.
