►The benefit of the guaranteed weight loss is to

ensure consistent wear resistance from the top
surface down to 75% depth.
►The remaining 25% overlay would be the
transition layer between soft base metal and
brittle overlay with lower hardness. The
advantage of softer transition layer is to
maintain good bonding.
