1. Investigate what tyrannicide consists of, according to SANTO TOMAS

THE TYRANICIDE
To begin with, it is necessary to mention that when speaking of the term tyrannicide

from the conception established by St. Thomas Aquinas it is necessary to think about the

concept of tyranny, which was classically considered as a possible form of government and is

considered the degeneracy of the monarchy. In fact, "The Greek word zyrannis designated a

form of personal government, autocratic monarchy, similar to dictatorship or despotism"

(Pavón,1992. p,1.), in which there is a supreme authority headed by a single person. But that,

to hold power in an illegitimate or despotic manner, it is also said that in tyranny there is a

violation of the human rights of citizens.

In this way, it must be established that the aforementioned elements exist; as the lack

of legitimate power, autocracy, dictatorship, despotism and violation of rights. It is

appropriate to link the term of tyrannicide to the right to resistance, "understood in doctrine as

the one who supports the legality of killing the king" (Malo, 2017). Thus, "The tyrannicide is

against the unjust rulers, the saint tomás indicates in his" government of princes "that the

tyrant is the one who despise the common good and seeks the private good “ (Castellanos,

2017).
