Plants play critical role in the development of human cultures
around the whole world. Plants have been used for medicinal
purposes long before prehistoric period. Some plants are
considered as important sources of nutrition and as a result
of that they are used for their therapeutic values. Medicinal
plants such as Aloe vera ,Tulsi and Neem cure several
ailments.
1. Tulsi (Ocimum tenuiflorum)
Description:- Tulsi is aromatic perennial plant in the
family lamiaceae it is native to Indian subcontinent and
widespread as cultivated plant throughout the
southeast Asian tropic.
MEDICINAL USES:-
1. Acts as detoxifying, cleansing and purifying agent.
Because of its antibiotic antibacterial, antiviral and
anticarinogenic properties it is effective in beating
skin disorders, itching and issue like ring worms
2. Extract of tulsi leaves helps in relieving from the fever,
headache, cold, cough, flu and chest congestion. Its
also beneficial in treating respiratory ailments like
chronic bronchits and asthama
3. Helps in regulating uric acid level in body, there by
elimination risk of developing kidney stones .it also
beneficial for those suffering from kidney stones
4. According to CDRI tulsi can help in maintaining normal
levels of stress hormone cortisol in body.

Description:- it is succulent, evergreen perennial
plant. It originates from Aribian Peninsula but grows
wild in tropical climate around the world and it is
cultivated for agricultural and medicinal use. Species
is also used decorative purposes and grows
successfully indoor in potted plant.
MEDICINAL USES:-
1. Sap from Aloevera is extremely useful to speed up
healing and reducing risk of infections for wounds,
cuts, burns and reducing inflammation
2. Apart from its external use on skin, it is taken
internally in treatment of colitis chronic
constipation, poor appetite and digestive problems
3. It is well known for its moisturizing, antiirritant and
cleansing effects and hence it is used in traditional
medicines as a remedy for skin ailments.
NEEM ( Azadirachta indica )
Decription :- Neem is fast growing tree. It is
evergreen but can shed leaves in extreme drought
conditions. It is native to Indian sub-continent. It is
typically grown in tropical and semitropical region.
Medicinal Uses:-
1. It is anti-fungal, anti-helmintic, anti-diabetic,
anti-bacterial, anti-viral, contraceptive and
redative.
2. Neem oil is used for healthy hairs, liver function,
detoxify blood and balance blood sugar level, Its
leaves have also been used to treat skin diseases
like eczema.
3. Treatment of ulcer-some research suggests that
an oral dose of 30-60 mg of neem bark, twice a
day for about 10weeks helps heel stomach and
intestinal ulcer.
4. Immuno-stimulant activity-aqueous extract of
neem bark and leaf posses anti-compliment and
anti-stimulant activity. Neem oil has been shown
to possess activity by selectively activating cell
mediated immune mechanism to elicit and
enhance response to subsequent nitrogenic or
anti-genic challenge.
5. Anti-oxidant activity of neem seed extract has
been demonstrated in vivo during horse grain
germination.
