Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world was born in a strategic place:

Discuss
Jesus Christ, the savior of the world was born in Bethlehem a suburb of Israel. The Old Testament
narratives cover the region of Mesopotamia in the earth, Asia Minor in the north, Syro- Palestine,
Egypt in the west and Arabian Peninsula in the south. After the Primeval history (Genesis 1-11)
of Israel, God called Abram in Chapter12 and made a covenant with him and promised to give to
give him and his descendants the land of Canaan which is part of the Fertile Crescent.

As a result of the covenant in Genesis 12, Abram moved from Ur through to Haran and then to
Egypt and later his descendants became slaves and by the Lord’s mighty hand, He delivered Israel
from slavery in Exodus 12 and brought them to the promise land (Canaan).

The Israelites continued to disobey God and He allowed the Assyria, Babylon and Persia to fight,
defeat, destroy the city of Jerusalem and took them into Captivity.

In the book of Amos 9:11, there was a prophecy to rebuild the temple Jerusalem and the Lord
touched the hearts of Cyrus, king of Persia in Ezra chapter 1 and king Artaxerxes in Nehemiah
Chapter 2 and then gave the permission and other materials which were needed for the rebuilding
after which the Israelites came back to Jerusalem under the leadership of Nehemiah.

As they awaited the coming of the Messiah as prophesied in Isaiah 9:6 and Micah 5:2, Alexander
the Great came into the scene during the inter-Testamental period which lasted for
400years.During this period he fought, conquered Egypt, Greece, Mesopotamia and India with
Alexandria in Egypt as his capital.

He then started Hellenization in the entire regions of his empire .By virtue of this, Greek language
began to spread throughout the regions and subsequently the Bible which was only in Hebrews
language was translated to Greek, making it understandable to many after 323years of which Jesus
Christ was born.

Jesus Christ, the savior of the world was born in Bethlehem a suburb of Israel. What made this
place strategic was the Fertile Crescent; this area included the Nile River valley and delta, the
narrow plains along the Mediterranean coast of syro-Palestine, the Tigris and the Euphrates Rivers.
Adequate rainfall and irrigation along these coastal plains permitted agriculture, and settled life,
giving rise to the earliest civilizations of the ancient Near East which was in the middle of the Old
Testament narratives region, a portion which was enviable to be owned by all. People from all
over the world came to this strategic place to trade and to seek greener pasture. God, who knows
the end from the beginning choose this place for his Word to easily spread to the ends of the world.
