2. Organize notes and rests according to simple meter ( grouping notes and
rests measures)

Engage
The rudiments of music are the basic elements of music
theory they include the musical notation , pitch, time, scales, key signatures
and time signatures with their Typical uses in melody harmony and rhythm.
They are normally learned, more or less explicitly, as part of learning to play
musical instruments.
Notes are musical symbol that are being played or sounded
while Rests simply means silence.

Procedure 1 (Rhythm Dice)


1. Form groups and gather your materials as instructed by your teacher.
2. The teacher will call each group 1 by 1.
3. As the group is called 1 representative will roll the dice, the group will clap, tap stomp or
finger snap the Rhythm that is represented by the number on the dice.
Procedure 2 ( Musical Sudoku )
1. Form groups
2. The Teacher will distribute the Sudoku sheet
3. Each group member should accomplish the Sudoku sheet correctly. The group that finish
first will receive an extra point

1. What is the Time signature of Dice 1-6? How many beats are there all in all?
2. What is a staff? What are the pitch names on the staff?
3. How do you divide the staff into a measure?
4. How many beats does a whole note has?
5. Where do you put the rests on the staff?
6. How do Rhythm affect our daily life?
